A. Tobias Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Pin Brooch - Water Bird Catching a Fish

Dating to the 1940s/1950s or so, may I offer this Sterling Silver (hallmarked as pictured) pin - brooch that was crafted by A Tobias, Taxco Mexico. Originally a Los Castillo design, the pin depicts a water-bird eating a fish that it caught. The design is attributed to Margo de Taxco while she was married Antonio Castillo (one of the four brothers that founded Los Castillo in the late 1930s). Size is 3-1/4" long x 1-1/2" wide. Weight is 19.3 grams. Safety catch at the back to hold the pinstem in place. Condition is very fine for its age with a wonderful patina to the silver - I have not polished much save to show the detail in the piece.
