A Marsden and Co- Silver and Clear liner Shell-Shaped Condiment Set with spoons

A wonderful little set: an open salt dip or cellar in the shape of a clam shell with a fitted frosted glass liner and the original matching spoon with a shell tipped handle. The dish is beautifully wrought and has three small round feet. The glass liner, which lifts out, has ridges to match the silver shell so it fits perfectly. Both dishes and spoons have the English registry hallmarks for A. Marston & Co., Birmingham, sterling, and 1921. The dish is 2" (50 mm) diameter and the spoon is 2 1/4" (57 mm) long. The silver part of the dip weighs 16.7 grams, the spoon weighs 3.2 grams, and the overall weight including the glass is 32.6 grams. Condition is excellent. There are 3.
