This family novel "THE LITTLE PRINCESS" tells the story of seven year old Sara, who was raised in India during the British occupation in the late 1800's to early 1900's. Her father was quite wealthy and an officer in the British Army. He had been called to fight where it was not safe for her to live. He brought her home to England and enrolled her in a boarding school. He gave the owner of the school ample funds to provide his little daughter with every luxury. On her birthday she was to have a lavish party and on that day he became a casualty of war. The headmistress who was now devoid of his tuition, forced Sara to be less than a servant. Sara's belief in herself and strength of character helped her to overcome the horrors all around her. NOTE. The original novel was published in 1909, but this illustrated large print copy was copyrighted in 1999.
