9” Rarámuri (Tarahumara) Hand-woven Urn Basket

Mid 21st century Sotol urn basket crafted by the Rarámuri/Tarahumara natives in the Sierra Madre/Copper Canyon mountains of Northern Mexico. These baskets are becoming scarce, rare to find one this size. Urn shaped with a crown at the top. Double weaving - layer woven inside with another outside - with natural sotol plant material. In excellent condition, holding its original shape nicely and no breaks or frays to the weave, based on my inspection. View photos for condition and measurements.
