It's certainly one of the best Cotswolds villages to visit. With no new houses built here since the 1600s, Castle Combe has a decidedly fairy-tale feel - honey-hued houses, a faceless 13th-century clock, and a picture-perfect bridge over a babbling river. Little wonder, then, that it's long been used as a home base for all manner of movies and TV shows, from Bridgerton and The Wolf Man to Stardust and War Horse. It also featured in the original Dr Doolittle film.
