80's Oleg Cassini Couture Gold Sequin Beaded Silk Dress size 8

This stunning 1980's tea length gown was designed by the inimitable Oleg Cassini via his Black Tie Label. Bring out your inner Krystal Carrington with this jaw dropping lavishly beaded and sequined tea length dress. This fabulous dress/gown is 100% silk with 100% rayon lining. The bodice of the dress is loaded with black beads, sequins, and black bugle beads. Although it's a bit top heavy due to the amazing intricate beadwork, it is in very good vintage condition with its original tags still attached. Although is fully lined in black rayon, the sleeves are beaded over sheer silk chiffon. The dropped waist skirt is created out of black silk chiffon petals in various lengths (aka handkerchief hem), to give a soft swirl effect; perfect for dancing the night away. There are no missing beads, tears, holes rips, stains or discoloration. The back of dress has a hidden zipper and there are snaps at the end of each sleeve. Shoulder pads were de rigueur during the 80's and this garment is clearly no exception. MEASUREMENTS: Bust 35", waist 28", hips 40", sleeve length 24", shoulder to hemline approx 42" due to handkerchief hemline Oleg Cassini (1913-2006) began designing in 1936. His look was elegantly sexy and at times, quite flamboyant. He achieved perhaps his greatest fame as the official wardrobe designer for Jacqueline Kennedy when she was first lady; he also designed clothes for Joan Fontaine, Joan Crawford and other Hollywood stars and women of great wealth.
