styleaway @msox73 You place an offer so that other buyers can't see how much I may be willing to lower the price. What I may be willing to lower it to today, I may not be willing to do tomorrow. It also lets the buyer know you are a serious bidder. The offer you place, if I decide to accept it, will automatically win the bid. If I want to counter it opens it up to negotiation, if you want, or you can decline and it closes.
