This is a brass compass with a paper dial, press-fit lid, blued needle, brass pivot, and scale marked on the chapter ring. There is no maker's mark evident. It is in good vintage condition with normal wear for the age. Please view all pictures for size and detail. It measures 2" D x .5" H. It does point north but should be considered an accurate scientific instrument. This is a fun novelty item. A perfect gift for that outdoorsy person. S00821
