Authenticated LV Speedy 30. This bag is 50 years old!
No tag code, this bag was made decades prior.
This bag is a great candidate for rehab if you want a cheaper alternative to LV services.
The handles are in excellent condition, considering its age. The monogram canvas looks great as well.
The zipper is broken, and the chads need to be replaced. The interior floor seam is in fair condition, with spotting and about 1” beginning to lift (interior and exterior). The interior fabric has a moderate discoloration, but has been gently cleaned/sanitized. No exposed piping, just moderate scratches in some spots.
The Talon zipper lock is intact, but we were told by LV that if we wanted to replaced the zipper, they could not reattach the talon lock.
Please note that the leather chads, handles, etc are not vachetta (as used in the modern bags). The handles are in extremely good condition.
History of The French Company. Louis Vuitton’s worldwide popularity grew even more rapidly in the 1970s in the United States. Until this time, their factories had always been in France… but Louis Vuitton simply couldn’t keep up with its growing market in the US. For this reason, in the 1970s Louis Vuitton developed a relationship with a US Luggage Maker. The French Luggage Company. During a period from around 1976 through 1991, The French Company manufactured bags under a special license from Louis Vuitton. These items were made here in the US, and were sold here in the US.
