88twinkles Hello! Do both side pockets have working snaps? Couldn’t tell from photos. Thank you in advance

88twinkles One more question, I promise! When looking down at purse, is the edging around top perimeter glazed?

zarksky @88twinkles Hi! No worries at all. Ask away. As far as the edging I don't know if I would describe it as glazed but it's definitely not edged with the rubber or plastic material unusually used on edges or handles. It looks like it's the leather itself folded over if that makes sense.

88twinkles You are the best. I ask a lot of questions because I had a Posh closet for years and I wanted a buyer to always ask any. If looking down at purse, is the edging single or double - like two seams sewn together?

zarksky @88twinkles I agree. I'd rather the buyer ask than be surprised after the fact. yes, the outside and the inside leather sewn together.

88twinkles and it’s not from Japan?

zarksky Curious though why that specific feature. I can't say I'm an expert on how bags are made but does that typically say anything about the quality of it? Aside from the actual craftsmanship? I'm always happy to learn especially if I'm buying or selling them.

zarksky @88twinkles I buy so many bags and some are from here or another site that authenticates them. I've had this for years so I cannot remember where exactly from. Is there anything wrong with bags from Japan? Aren't they usually strict with authenticity?

88twinkles I totally get it. Your closet is great. Japanese ones are dupes, and no, not strict with authenticity because they are dupes. I believe this is a great vintage bag and I am taking you up on your offer- thank you for your professionalism and kindness!

zarksky @88twinkles That's good to know. My niece was just in Japan last Fall. She said there are a lot of stores of used luxury items but she said they swear by their authenticity because Japan is strict. I wouldn't say the same about China. They make very good dupes of luxury items so I'm always wary of anything from there. When I'm not sure I usually get it authenticated by either RealAuthentication or LegitGrails.

88twinkles The authenticity laws do not apply to exports re: bags 😵‍💫

88twinkles @zarksky Hey - in answer to your question about glazing - not applying to quilted boogie bag - but all authentic Celine boogie bags made btwn 2002 and 2010 have a glazed edge around perimeter of bag. No glazed edge means fake. Period.

zarksky @88twinkles Good info! You're really good at this authentication thing. When in doubt I send it over to a trusted authenticator. And sometimes a second one just to be sure. Most of the time I just get them from a place that does it in the first place like Vestiare Collective, LuxeDH, or Luxury Closet. And even then I get it authenticated again when I want to have that piece of paper.

zarksky @88twinkles Sometimes you can figure it's a dupe just from the photos because the leather looks thin and cheap. This bag in particular has very thick, good quality leather. I can't imagine knowingly selling a counterfeit. It ruins your closet's reputation.
