The Saint Louis is an extremely light bag because it is made in soft Goyardine canvas, a natural and delicate material. The Goyardine canvas is a cotton and linen canvas, made only from natural fibers with a thin coating which is then frame-printed with the chevron pattern. Frame-printing is a hand-printing process where each color is printed one after the other using different frames, exactly the same as the silk-printing process. Over time, the Goyardine canvas acquires a patina, a desired effect similar to the vintage trunks in our stores: the chevron pattern will fade and the fabric will become more flexible.
