This ONE OF A KIND vintage piece from 1978 features a charming crewel embroidery of a wild kitten, and dragonfly. It was crafted by Columbia Minerva with their signature quality from the Hallmark design collection. The intricate embroidery technique used is crewel, adding texture and depth to the picture. The model number is 7921, and it was manufactured in the United States. The picture is framed with a customized textured wood frame and gold inlay frame, adding to its beauty and vintage charm. It is 18” tall, 13.5” wide and just shy of 1” depth. The frame is in great condition with no chips or gold paint loss. The back of the frame does have a little discoloration and the cotton is stapled to cardboard and taped also. The wire for hanging is also stapled to the cardboard. All could easily be removed if unwanted.
This is an orange tabby kitten with blue eyes, relaxing outside on the ground in some dirt and green leaves. Flying above the kitten in the kit is a dragonfly in yellow and orange hues. My grandmother at the time she completed this piece was well-seasoned in crewel work and added her special custom design below the dragonfly. She included a beautiful butterfly with the leftover wool yarn and cotton thread. This piece is perfect for any collector or enthusiast of vintage crafts, kittens, dragonflies, and butterflies!!!! Don't miss the opportunity to add this amazing piece to your collection.
