The top compartment has five slots for brushes, four of which contain Dior's most popular brushes. The largest and most popular brush number 14 is perfect for powdered foundation or other powdered makeup products and retails for $65. The "cat tongue" shaped brush number 11 is SUPER popular and is perfect for applying liquid foundation. This brush, although not as pricey as number 14, still retails on its own for $38. The number 21 brush is for eye shadows and brush number 24 is for eyeliner and both of these currently retail for $28 each. These four brushes are "must haves" and are a great start to a nice set of brushes. The additional slots in the case can be used for brushes you like that may not be included in this set.
