NWT, certainly a dark suede that looks black depending on the lighting. I am missing the top of the shoe box for whatever reason. Size 9.5, originally over $300 shoes. No defects noticed as they were never worn—I tested out the sole by bending and all appeared well. Stored in temp controlled room, smoke free and fur free house.
