Antique Art Deco Gilt Brass & Glass Vanity/Dresser Tray w/Tatted Lace Insert - Perfume Tray - PNCW This is an exquisite antique gilt brass and glass vanity or dresser tray that has a beautiful tatted lace doily preserved between 2 layers of glass. There is a lovely Art Deco design around the border of the tray and on the handles. The tray is footed on the bottom. These trays were used on vanity tables or dressers to hold pretty perfume bottles and other toiletries. This was made by the PNCW company (Progress Novelty Casting Works) of Long Island City, NY, in the 1920's, The tray is heavy and very well made, the preservation of the needlework under the glass looks like it is still new. The underside of one handle is marked "PNCW". The tray measures 13 1/4" from handle to handle & 8" wide & stands on 4 ball feet. The total height is 1". The original metal ring on the underside of the tray holds the glass in the frame andthe lace doilie is the tray's original piece. This outstanding old tray is in excellent condition. There are no chips, tears, cracks, or stains. All parts are original.
