Vintage porcelain signed ginger jar with lid, age unknown. Appears Asian from the marking on the bottom. Design is floral with flowers and leaves, and different kinds of flying butterflies (no two are alike). The diameter is about 3”, and height with lid on is about 5”. Has some mild irregularities due to being hand painted. A toothpick points to these within the design on outside of jar. The rim has paint speckles, and there is a tiny irregularity inside due to being hand painted, but all before firing. Interestingly, there is the number 43 painted on the inside of the jar bottom in similar color white. This may be the 43rd jar made by the artist? Lucky number? Just guessing—it’s hard to see the 43 in the last photo. No chips, damage or cracks etc, outside of the irregularities prior to firing the porcelain. It’s a lovely ginger jar for notions, jewelry or spices. No smoking home. I ship same or next business day.
