damiangray @atascocita Hey again & thank you! our lamps are hand made & this is a break from our norm, but knowing my husband could create some amazing colors, I went with it...I took the sliding doors off of a double closet in our guest room, painted it, put up 3 walls if book shelves, placed a small RL black & bamboo dresser in there and some sconces flanking the entry and it was transformed into a small little exotic library with drawer space!

dazzlenposh @damiangray πŸ‘ Was it sourced from India or do you have a local source...just curious, it’s so beautiful πŸ’ž

damiangray @dazzlenposh It's an entirely hand made shade atop a brass statue of Ganesha. We're a custom lamp company... I've posted some photos & can be found shamelessly bragging about my husband's work in my " Meet the Posher" section ,.Thanks for noticing Ganesha! .If you have a piece that you like,he can customize it & make a very pretty a lamp out of it.. tho most of his collection are original designs..πŸ˜ŠπŸ’“πŸ’“

damiangray @dazzlenposh ..are u looking for a resource in India?

dazzlenposh
dazzlenposh @damiangray The Ganesha is so unique...do you have a supplier you source it from here or in India? I should have specified - my apologies 😞
Jan 28Reply
damiangray
damiangray @dazzlenposh Mostly if not all American suppliers..We're a very small company (4 employees if you count the dogs πŸ˜‚)...but like I said, my husband makes these pieces..The Ganesha was originally a prop that I used for commercial staging/ window display but as I focused more on home staging,we kept it thinking it might make a cool lamp w/ great energy tho I imagine some think it's a little over the top!

dazzlenposh @damiangray Ok, gotcha...love the concept! Your husband has a great eye for design. Yes, Ganesha is definitely positive energy even if folks think otherwise. ❀️

warnocks Leslie, did you just recently post this lamp? I don’t remember seeing it before but it’s stunning!!! I knew it had to be one of your husband’s designs!! You certainly could design a whole room around one of his lamps!! I’m a fan!

warnocks @damiangray My fragrance? Yes I did and I’ve sprayed my whole closet with it! It smells heavenly! I don’t know if I told you but along with the jackets I used to decoupage wood bowls and sell them. Well, I have stacks of fashion magazines from the late 80’s and a stack of wooden bowls my husband keeps bringing home, so..

warnocks I decided to start doing the bowls again and see if they’ll sale on PM. I have 3 almost ready to list but here’s the thingβ€”they require 30 coats of lacquer on the inside and outside and I’ve been doing them in the house because it’s been so windy here. So our whole house reeks of lacquer. When I turn the stove on I’m afraid I’m going to blow us up!

warnocks
warnocks Well, now I’m spritzing the fragrance everywhere and John thinks I’ve lost my mind (along with my teeth)! I’m doing the jackets too so been pretty busy. I’ll let you know when I list the bowls because so anxious to see what you think. They have themes i.e. Diamonds & watches, Arizona western, and Day of the Dead. I want to do a steampunk one but I don’t know if I have the right magazines. I’d need your input!

damiangray @warnocks Your house, you and everything else in your neighborhood must smell heavenly! I cant wait to see all! You're on a creative roll!..re: decoupage, personally I'm not its biggest fan, but I'm sure your work will change my mind!

warnocks @damiangray I look at it more as a historical collage art form not napkins glued on stuff! But we’ll see! 🀞

I'll see if I can rustle a up one of our exhibition posters . Check out the earlier work of French Steampunk artist Sam van Olffen, French watch designer Vianney Halter and Steam engine designer, Jos da Vink.

damiangray oh better yet ,read the back of your tshirt for artists of reference, lol! I'm so slow sometimes....
Apr 13Reply
warnocks
warnocks @damiangray LOL!!! Thanks for all the suggestions! I know steampunk is around the Victorian era and the steam engines but how did the vampire, goth trend get combined with it?
Apr 13Reply
damiangray
damiangray @warnocks that merge is similar to back when Staging became popular and there was a lull in hiring Interior Designers, so the ID professionals started rebranding themselves as stagers.. it wasnt the same thing but they could benefit from the new popularity of the other...dig? 😎
