Stunning vintage designer evening Clutch from the 1960's. This Clutch has an embossed metal frame and Crystal and Rhinestone handle. The Clutch is heavy due to the weight of the rhinestones. It has several small areas of separation. I was told by a purse repair this could be easily repaired and occurred due to the weight of the rhinestones. made in west Germany, lining is intact and is a sateen like material. Although I remember this was designer evening purse, I can’t the name of the designer. It would be a wonderful purse for any formal affair or wedding.

ropatere Oh my goodness - I own this exact purse! It was my husband’s grandmother’s and I love it. If you do find out the designer name I’d love to know what it is. I hope you get a buyer soon - I’ll share! I can attest to this being a great little bag!

vintagebaubles @ropatere that’s so great! I’ll definitely let you know if I find out! It was originally my grandmothers(!) and then she gave it to my mom, I was young in the mid to late 60’s and used to love to peek into my grandmothers and mothers drawers to look at the sparkly purses! And honestly, I appreciate them more at this point but unfortunately I have no where to use them. I’m so excited to know you have the same purse, just out of curiosity, do you know where your husbands grandmother lived?

ropatere @vintagebaubles New York until the 70s, then Florida. I try to find little occasions to use it but mostly I’m holding onto it to pass it down to the next generation. Aren’t these pieces fun?

vintagebaubles @ropatere they’re wonderful! I’ve be debating around holding on to the purses, my husband says no one will want them but I still find them magical and would love to pull them out to offer my granddaughters for a prom, wedding..... you can’t find purses with this kind of workmanship anymore( well maybe in Paris for quite a bit more!) My grandmother still wore white gloves and hats in the 60’s, It was a grand occasion to take the bus downtown with her to shop😀So fun to talk to you!

ropatere @vintagebaubles Charlotte would be around 102 today. She was indeed an elegant lady. The grandmas sound like kindred spirits —I imagine them meeting in passing, at a department store counter, smiling with a nod of approval at one another’s purchases. :) I’m sure if you do sell this lovely purse that it will find a buyer who loves the history behind a piece like this one. It’s the special appeal of vintage. Best of luck! 😘
