How is the blog coming along? It's always fun and interesting reading it. I find myself giggling a little ☺.

@angel10 It's fun to write, Thanks! I need some new topics to discuss... I have already addressed most of what I had questions about early on!

Hi! I was wondering what it means when someone picks an item in your closet for Host Pick?
Mar 21Reply

grayasparagus
@mecina great question! Have you noticed the invites to the nightly Posh Parties? The chosen "hosts" get to pick up to 100 listings and they get showcased in the Host Pick Showroom... you want to get a Host Pick or "HP" because it brings tons of attention to your closet! If you check out my blog (theGrayAsparagus.com) I have a couple of posts that go in depth on how to get a host pick and also how to host a party! Hope this helps!

adelajane
How do you get so many followers?
Mar 22Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @adelajane ! There are several ways to boost your followers... the basic ways are to: follow lots of people in hopes that they follow back, share your listings to parties and share others in the party, and to play "follow games." Over time you will gradually gain followers. I have gained the vast majority of followers due to being a Suggested User. Being a Suggested User doesn't automatically give you followers but it "suggests" users to follow you and its ultimately up to the user to do so.

What a great idea! I will definitely check out your blog! One thing stumping me is "Closet Organizing"... Some sellers have all of their sold items below a certain point. How do you adjust where your listings fall in your closet?
Mar 22Reply

grayasparagus
@akaerin hi!!! When you "share" to your followers, the listing will go to the top of your closet. Typically you do not share a sold listing so they naturally will fall to the bottom out of the way (you will see that in my closet). If you choose to organize by tops, sweaters, shoes, etc. then you will need to share them in the way you want them to fall. Make sense?

I've been doing some shopping on Posh (only to familiarize myself of course so I could eventually sell) you know, market research. My other half has suggested that maybe it's time to start selling.....
Well I'm wondering how many things to list in order to have a starter closet. Should I photograph everything and then list? How much time does a casual seller who is pruning her own closet spend on the site?
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
Mar 22Reply

grayasparagus
@jjames7118 Great questions! And of course, long answers :) That's great that you did some research first! I would start out with a minimum of 25 listings. Posh recommends 10. The more listings you have is simply more variety and choices thus making the chances of a sale higher. I say a MINIMUM of 25 - but the more the better. I take photos first just so I can edit them- adjust colors- crop, etc. But as you list you will find what works best for you and what you find easiest. Sometimes I will just take basic photos first and list the item so that I can get it up- then go back and take more time to do a covershot that I am more proud of. Good covershots= more "likes". On to your question of time: Honestly- you get out of it what you put into it. It takes a lot of time sharing and getting your listings out there and noticed. It gets easier over time as you get a following. I spend ALOT of time on here. But also the "quality" and brands of your listings effect the length of time before it sells. To see what is "popular" now- check out the showrooms in the Party section- those are the brands that are being featured. Let me know if you have more specific questions :) Check out my blog www.theGrayAsparagus.com and click on my post titled "You Want How Much for That???" and it talks about different ways to price your closet which can be a factor in how well your closet sells.

sonotverbal
Hello! Thanks for showing support to the newbies:) I was wondering how do you bundle? And also people like to trade on here I'm not sure if I want to go that route at all but if I did how does trading work on here?
Mar 28Reply

grayasparagus
@sonotverbal Hi!!!! Welcome!!! If you are going to bundle... I typically make a new listing and use screen shots (or original photos) of the items. List it at the agreed upon price. I always mark the original listings as "not for sale" until the buyer has "accepted" the bundle and the funds are transferred (I do this to protect myself as a seller so that there is documentation of how I described the items). Please let me know if you need further explanation :)
Mar 28Reply

grayasparagus
@sonotverbal continued....As far as trading- I don't trade. It's not covered by Posh Protection and if someone "steals" your items or it comes not as described you are out of luck. Posh doesn't back this up because- basically- they didn't get a 20% commission to do so. If you check out my blog www.theGrayAsparagus.com I just did a post about being "Safe" on Poshmark and briefly mentioned all that can go wrong. Let me know if you have more questions!!!
Mar 28Reply

Oh okay that makes sense. Thank you so much for your help! And thanks so much for the follow and shares its greatly appreciated :)

Hi sweetie. I am fairly new check out my closet to see what I could do better to make sales. Ive made one in the month ive had listings. I started as a buyer and then buyer/seller im not easily offended free to advice thanks so much:-)

annesanborn
Very helpful - thanks!! Good Poshing karma back to you Doll!
Mar 30Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @ulivjulie69 ! It can take time to get those first few sales. Because you specifically asked for advice- the #1 advice I could say is to make sure all of your listings are allowed. I personally (and A LOT of Poshers are like this) will not share/follow/or purchase from a closet that has unsupported items. If you go to my blog post (address listed above) and read the post about "the Posh Police"- there is a direct link to The Poshmark "what can I list."
Mar 30Reply

grayasparagus
@ulivjulie69 continued....Other than that I would continually keep searching for the best lighting you can get for your photos. Everytime I take photos I try to improve what I did before. These are my best tips for increasing your audience and getting your items noticed to help sell :) hope that helps !

kaitlynpowell
@vance289 question on selling items: is it better to list a ton of things in your closet or put up 10-15 items and as they sell put more up?
Apr 30Reply

grayasparagus
@kaitlynpowell such a good question! I often want only 25 things listed for ease of sharing!!! Here is my opinion... If you are a wholesaler that's when fewer listing can be beneficial- I say this because even though you have a few listing they have broad appeal because you probably have every size. If you (like me) sell pre-owned and single unique pieces- it can take longer to find a buyer
Apr 30Reply

grayasparagus
(Continued @kaitlynpowell ) the more items/brands you have listed brings more people to your closet through searches. If you only have 20 pieces - it limits the ability to bundle. More pieces= more chances. Some buyers won't buy a single shirt for $8 bc of $4.99 shipping- but they may feel good about an $8 shirt and a $6 necklace. Just my opinion though!!!!
Apr 30Reply

kaitlynpowell
@vance289 thank you so much! 😊

thriftbeauty
Hi Elle, first of all, thank you for doing this 😊😊 so I have sold my first item on posh, and I was wandering if it's ok to deposit the money to an account with a different name. Being Asian meant that all my legal documents are in that name 😭😭😭
May 15Reply

grayasparagus
@thriftbeauty it shouldn't matter, a lot of people have their accounts under nicknames or business names and I have never heard of anyone having an issue! The first time you request money it will take a little longer- but once its all set up and verified- it will be deposited much quicker. Nice to meet you!
May 15Reply

thriftbeauty
Thank you for your fast response, so glad that's the case 😆😆 I was actually reading your blog and the suggested user caught my attention (didn't know they were legit till now) how long did it take you to get your approval? Also, after reading the requirements, I didn't see a time period you have to be in posh to apply (I think for hosts it's 3 months!!) So I assume a newbie can apply? This is my first week here) thanks a bunch!!!😁😊😘
May 15Reply

grayasparagus
@thriftbeauty go ahead and apply!!! Not sure how log it takes- I guess it depends on how long the list is and how many people they can add ... But if it takes a few months- you will be an expert by then! Most important is to not have anything in your closet that's against policy.
May 15Reply

thriftbeauty
Thank you for your support and answers, I follow all the Poshmark rules, so hopefully I'll get in 😄😄 I just applied and got an automatic message that they'll respond in 1-2 business days, don't know how that's supposed to work but super excited right now 💃💃💃

Good morning. I'm only new to the selling side of PM. I've been buying for awhile, time to sell now. I have been using the camera w/i the PM app as sizing seems to b an issue w regular camera. U mentioned in another reply that ull take a pic to get it out there then work on cover. How do u chg which pic is ur cover? Ex: one of my listing this morn, I liked the 4th pic better but couldn't figure out how to chg it to b my cover pic. Hope that makes sense.
Jul 04Reply

grayasparagus
@mswacky03 if you go to your listing and click edit, it should show the 4 boxes that have pics ... Click on the first one and there should be a file folder in the bottom right... Select that and it should open up your photo library. If you do not have your originals saved - I suggest taking screenshots first so you can upload the screen shot.
Jul 04Reply

mswacky03
@vance289 U r absolutely awesome!! Thank u so much for the help. And thanks for advise on taking screen shot. The pics I took the other day saved on my phone but today's pics did not for some reason. I'll def check out ur blog site, cant wait to read it. Have a great holiday.

@vance289 I just joined yesterday and I got like 500 some followers, but nobody seems to want anything. Am I pricing it too high/not making it look appealing? Or am I just being impatient. Thank you so much for listening, it means a lot! 😊
Jan 13Reply

grayasparagus
@reneenayy17 patience! The first sale is the hardest! Your prices look great and you have some awesome brands. It took me about 3 weeks to get my first sale- and still even now I can have days or weeks when it's slow and nothing happens. (Cont.)
Jan 13Reply

grayasparagus
@reneenayy17 when you first start out- following people will get you followers and SHARING other people's listing as well as your own to get visibility. cblack2111
@vance289 what are your tips for selling everything?
Jan 15Reply

grayasparagus
@cblack2111 hi! I saw that my friend @clammymandi sent you over (hi!!!). That is a complex question and there are many factors to determine how fast and how much you sell... But first- welcome to Poshmark! (Cont...)
Jan 15Reply

grayasparagus
@cblack2111 first you need to focus on getting "out there", you needs a few followers and start following people- only your followers can see what you "share" from your closet. My suggestion is to start following lots of people and they will usually follow back. Then you gotta start sharing!!! Share your listings and others (people will share back) that way your listings have a broader "reach" (the are visible to the followers of the people who share your listings.
Jan 15Reply

grayasparagus
@cblack2111 in your closet @clammymandi is correct about pricing! Have fair pricing and be open to negotiating. I always look up similar listings in the site to determine how much things are selling for. Also- familiarize yourself with the Rules of what you can post and etiquette guidelines- you don't want any "rule breaking" to hold you back. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more specific questions!
Jan 15Reply

reneenayy17

Jan 15Reply

Jan 15Reply

cblack2111
@vance289 what does it mean when a person adds one of your listings to a bundle?
Jan 17Reply

grayasparagus
@cblack2111 it could mean that they are picking out a few things to purchase or just saving them for later. If you "like" several things in one closet it's a good way to sort them.

I've posted a bunch of clothes for sale in my closet. How come I've only had one buyer? All of my clothes are in excellent condition and some never worn. All popular name brands and various sizes. How can I get more buyers? I feel like my prices are reasonable seeing as I paid a lot more for these clothes that I've barely worn than what I'm selling them for.
Jun 15Reply

grayasparagus
Hey @sassyfish3 ! I have a blog post that give 5 things to do when you first start out. But to answer here in the simplest way possible- you have to share other people's listing and follow other poshers. It's the best and fastest way to basically let others know your closet exists! Otherwise you are dependent on someone doing a brand search and stumbling upon your listings. You can also share your listing to parties to gain exposure. Hope that helps!
Jun 15Reply

I lost a sale due to poshmark not making it clear to buyers that sellers only upgrade to 10lbs shipping, bundles must be cancelled a
purchased in two for upgrade labels. I found this info on a blog waiting for poshmark support When I found it I told the buyer, it made me look like I was trying to scam. I asked PM to change this in checkout process. Something to cover with anyone as it is not listed on FAQ or shipping info. Bundles cost sellers, we pay an additional 19.95 for 10 lbs.
Jun 15Reply

lemonposh
@cblack2111 @grayasparagus I have accidentally added an item to a bundle when I meant to share it. I now go back and remove from bundle if this happens. I notice that at times it happens to my items and see they are sharing several and I understand they did the same mistake.
Jun 15Reply

sassyfish3
@grayasparagus I've been sharing other people's listings and following lots of people. I've had a ton of people follow me, like my listings, and share them. Still nothing... What am I still doing wrong?
Jun 15Reply

grayasparagus
@sassyfish3 if you look in your closet it will tell you how many shares you have... Looks like right now you have shared 114 listings. The more you share the better chances you have. To put it into perspective- I have over 300k followers and over 400k shares and I do not make a sale every day. Sometimes it's just the perfect storm of the right person seeing your item. Just keep doing it and you will see results!
Jun 15Reply

sassyfish3
@grayasparagus doesn't that get annoying to others when I'm constantly sharing other people's listings? Won't my followers get annoyed? I would think it would...
Jun 15Reply

grayasparagus
@sassyfish3 nope! That's the fundamental way Posh works :) people LOVE when you share their listings. If I share your listings- HOPEFULLY some of my followers will see your listings and take interest... If you shared me- hopefully the same thing happens. This is the only selling app that you can be proactive to market your listings within the app

@grayasparagus hi! I was wondering if you had any advice on how to get shoppers to leave "Love notes" on your profile. I have sold 10+ items, and gotten all 5* ratings. I use cute packaging, even put a little thank you note in with the sold item thanking the customer and asking them to rate their experience with me. I read once that it's bad manners to ask directly for a love note. Thanks 💗
Jun 23Reply

grayasparagus
@ltordoff Hi! I looked back at my past few sales and the "love notes" were given only about 50% of the time. If I get a 5 star rating then I know they were happy. I would personally never request a note because I would rather hear what they had to say of their own accord. I understand that its important for a newer closet to have some for reference- but be patient- they will come!
Jun 23Reply

grayasparagus
@ltordoff you can always take a screen shot of all your 5 star ratings in your account info and post it if you want potential customers to see your ratings while you wait for more love notes :)

Ive hardly had returns in my previous sales on a diff platform but now I feel I need to get overly specific that I'm like scaring the person away from my closet! maybe it's just the law of average w/ sales..Any tips? Hi!! I've been active for 3 days now; what is the appropriate and effective number of times to share items from your own closet? I make sure I share others items consistently throughout the day.
Jun 25Reply

grayasparagus
@kjciarmella most people will say to share your closet at least 3 times a day. But I say you can never share enough! Just do what you have time for, there is really not a magic number :)

@srbean84 Hey! This will take a couple of comments to respond... SU; I became a Suggested User a couple of years ago and the wait time was much less maybe 3 months for me? But there are soooo many more Poshers and the program is different (for instance there is now the email set up to request the status) so it can take much longer.
Jun 25Reply

grayasparagus
@srbean84 Sometime I do photograph things or video myself packing a bundle but I haven't had any big issues. I have just learned that YES you need to specifically describe all wear and sometime even color in your description- that would not scare anyone away- people want details and it also protects you as a seller. I actually mention things that most people would never notice- just to honest and thorough.
Jun 25Reply

grayasparagus
@srbean84 I kinda go into detail on this subject in my blog post about the ratings system on my blog mentioned in this post, if you search the keyword "ratings" it should come right up. Hope this helps!!

The worker told me to use the priority mail large envelope/bags or the long priority mail box. NOT one that says "Flat Rate" on it.....I mailed one out the other day this way and it looks like it is getting delivered today but I'm so nervous I did this incorrectly! Have you come across an issue like this before?

Jul 01Reply

grayasparagus
@kjciarmella I am so sorry to just now be responding! I completely missed this. How did it work out? It's a completely different label/cost bracket so if the wrong box is used there CAN be a payment on delivery charged, as in the recipient may have to pay extra to make up for the shortage. If you use the free boxes/envelopes they have to be the ones with the red markings that are just "priority", or you can use any other type of recycled packaging.

@grayasparagus hi! I was wondering if, when it comes to reselling items in your personal closet, it is legal to use the original picture in your posting to show what you're selling. I found that with certain clothes it is really hard to take a photo that captures its essence and I think it would be helpful to provide the original picture along with my own (I would states that the items are gently worn of course). Is this allowed? Thanks!
Jul 10Reply

@ltordoff hi! Using other people's photographs in any capacity (to my knowledge) is copyright infringement. However, people still do it. The likelihood of J.crew or H&M etc getting mad or caring is pretty slim. I don't know if siting the source makes it better. So it's up to you- everyone does it. I personally don't. I would say definitely DO NOT use other Posher's original photos tho! Hope that helps!
Jul 10Reply

grayasparagus
@ltordoff if you are on the fence- I would google the subject and decide what route you want to go.
Jul 10Reply

ltordoff
@grayasparagus well I definitely do not want to break the law lol! Any advice on how I can improve my pictures? I try to be as neat and creative as possible in putting outfits together to display the item. I try to keep my photos clean and clear in quality. Sometimes I use cover filters when I think it draws attention to the item. I also sometimes model them. But there are few things that are very cute but have low likes because I can't seem to portray this on camera.
Jul 10Reply

grayasparagus
@ltordoff I think you have very nice, clear photos. My advice would be to change them routinely until you find your "style"... It takes trial and error to determine what works best for your closet. Do a "flat lay" and if you don't get a lot of likes, try modeling, a hanger etc. I have a blog post (address is in my "about" section) regarding photos and lighting.
Jul 10Reply

grayasparagus
@ltordoff to help find your style, scroll through your newsfeed and see what really catches your eye - then take those elements and incorporate them into your closet.
Jul 10Reply

ltordoff
@grayasparagus thank you!! I will definitely check that out!! I originally modeled the pics, and then after nothing was selling I switched to clear, flat photos. And a weird thing happened... I got a lot more attention and likes but most of the stuff they were buying were the modeled pics!! But anyways I am going to try again and I'll check out your blog post! Thank you for the advice... I really appreciate it!

@grayasparagus Happy Sunday! I have a question. I have noticed this past week that we can now sell Men's and Children's clothing items and still be posh compliant? Have you found this to be true? I just want to make sure before I post anything. Thank you 😉
Jul 24Reply

grayasparagus
@kjciarmella hi! Yes it's absolutely true! Men's and kids clothing and accessories. The update is available for iPhone but not yet for iPads and androids. If there is a category for it- you an list it :) if you check out my blog at the address above in description- I have a post about it- including a link to the official posh announcement.

@grayasparagus Thank you so much for the quick response!!! I really appreciate it!

skirtsandbows
Hi! I love your closet! What does it mean when someone adds an item to a bundle? Will they be buying it?
Jul 28Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @valzheng ! I would have to say in this case- you should direct all of these questions and concerns directly to Poshmark Support. They can help you with to what to submit and how to avoid situations that pertain to issues that you might be having. Sorry to not be able to provide advice, but I do not have experience with this.
Jul 28Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @skirtsandbows ! If you click on someone's listing and hit the upper right hand icon like you would to share- there is an "add to bundle" option. People use this to sort things they "like" from one closet and sometimes they may purchase- there are no guarantees when or if they will. Also sometimes it is selected on accident.

marynil
Hello, I need know what I'm doing wrong because I have long with postmark and I have not sold ent thing. Can you help me please??? Thank you very much
Aug 02Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @marynil ! Typically the items that sell the fastest are name-brand items because they show up in searches when a shopping is looking for a particular branded. Handmade and unbranded are harder to come across. I have never sold handmade items so I cannot advise you on how to get more attention to them. However, you may see a better result if you add more items to your closet- Poshmark recommends to have at least 10 listings available.
Aug 03Reply

grayasparagus
@marynil (cont) For the items you do have listed I would say- be more descriptive in the titles... for instance the necklace you have listed as "hippie necklace" might be more easily searchable if you list it as "Silver tone statement necklace with blue stones." I hope this helps :)
Aug 03Reply

rebel_rose_co
If I may ask, how long did it take before you started making regular sales? I have been on Poshmark for a few months and spend a ton of time on here working really hard to get followers. I would love to have a boutique but I don't get regular sales. I used to sell swatched makeup but I (at least I think so) am now posh compliant. Even when I lower prices I don't make a ton of sales. I share as much as I can and try to take decent pictures. Do you have any advice for me? Thank you so much!
Aug 24Reply

grayasparagus
@whatcom1 hi! I just briefly browsed your closed and it looks good! Being compliant is the first step bc you will get more community support. When you are a boutique you have to rely on getting your name out there (I see you share a lot which is key!). If you are selling brand name items- they are easily searchable and things like Wildfox, Free People, Anthro, Nike etc are sought after... (Cont)
Aug 24Reply

grayasparagus
@whatcom1 I do not sell "retail" or "boutique" items so it's hard to compare how much or often our closets sell. I would encourage you to continue to build your brand (find a certain "look" to keep your photos consistent and recognizable) and building a customer base. Hope that helps. I have TONS of sharing tips and strategies on my blog of you want to check that out.
Aug 24Reply

rebel_rose_co
@grayasparagus thank you so much!!! That was a quick response! I will definitely check out your blog. I'm following you on Instagram as well 🙂
Aug 24Reply

grayasparagus
@whatcom1 what is your insta name? Oh! Truth about sales: I do not have any sort of consistency with my sales. I had zero sales last week... Then 2 bundles before 7:30 Friday morning! I have had days where I can't get a "like" and then pack up 8 orders. 😂😂
Aug 24Reply

ringo7
Hi😁, I received an item that was not the item described. I had specifically ask if the material was rayon & spandex or polyester & spandex. The answer to my question was specifically, ' polyester and spandex'. I do not like rayon that is why I asked because it was not described on the page. When I received the item it was 100% rayon. I have not accepted this item for payment, they need to be returned. Could you please help me?😊
Oct 01Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @ringo7 ! If you go to the item in your "purchases" within the app, I believe it is below the button where you accept. Report problem with the order and it should ask for photos and description of issue. Poshmark will review the case and get back to you (might take a couple of days). Hope that helps!
Oct 01Reply

ringo7
I'll try that. It was so nice to meet you and may your days be blessed. Thank you very much.😊

musemax
Hello, my PFF @sweetgretchen said you have some really great advice. I noticed that most of your sold listings are pretty inexpensive. Is that how you run things?
Nov 28Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @musemax ! If you look at my most recent sales, yes, I sold at low prices to clear them out. I typically look up similarly sold items on Posh and price comparatively.
Nov 28Reply

musemax
Thanks I read your holiday blog last night and loved it. I will be reading more posts that is certain. :-)
Nov 28Reply

musemax
The thing that concerns me about lowering prices is that then they offer you even less then you are asking. How do you handle that? Also, do you belong to any FB Posh groups?
Nov 28Reply

grayasparagus
@musemax you never have to accept less than you want. I will counter if I can or decline. If I decline (and sometimes when I counter) I will tag them in the listing thanking them and say "thank you for the offer, the price is the lowest I can take right now"... Many times they will purchase at my price. It never hurts to put in an offer- many (including me) will offer just to see.
Nov 28Reply

grayasparagus
@musemax I am not a member of any groups, no
Nov 28Reply

musemax
Thanks for your advice this morning. I do belong to 3 FB groups. I was doing really well with sales and boom one day they just stopped. Of course, I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. Just this morning...I thought I haven't been to as many parties lately and I wonder if that has had an impact.
Nov 28Reply

musemax
I sometimes have trouble with staying up late enough for the late night parties. I live in Michigan. To complicate this 3 days a week I need to go to bed at 8pm because I get up very early with my dad to take him to dialysis. Do you think this party attendance is critical to good sales?
Nov 28Reply

grayasparagus
@musemax I think attending and sharing parties definitely helps give your closet maximum exposure. It's recommended by Poshmark to do so... I am in the same boat as you and go to sleep an hour before the nighttime party even starts. While my sales this year are better than last- they might have increased more had I been able to share/attend. I will never know for sure.
Nov 28Reply

musemax
Thanks so much.
Nov 28Reply

musemax
Can you tell me if sales were slow last year at this time, the year before that ,etc.?
Dec 01Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @musemax! I did better in 2015 this time of year than I did the year before... but that's because I was more knowledgeable with what I was doing! I am not selling right now- so can't speak for how things are this year.
Dec 01Reply

nikkisam85
@grayasparagus hiii! Just happened across your closet and I love it! I also love that you are so willing to help new poshers! I am really trying to grow my network but am struggling. I share to parties, tag for host pics, and share others listings and try to follow as many folks as possible but it just feels like really slow going. Any suggestions on how to grow my shopping network?
Dec 02Reply

grayasparagus
Hi @nikkisam85 !!! So nice to meet you! When you say grow your shopping network, do you mean getting followers?
Dec 02Reply

nikkisam85
@grayasparagus yes basically. I love shopping on Posh but I'm trying to sell as well and it feels like very slow going. Nice to meet you too!!
Dec 02Reply

grayasparagus
@nikkisam85 followers do not always equal sales, yes, it certainly helps to get your closet out there- but doing what you are doing (sharing and attending parties) are a great way to find buyers. It may feel slow, but it will pay off :)

mysterygirl0305
@grayasparagus thank you for helping so many people! That is very kind and generous of you to take the time out of your day to help newbs. Saying that, I'm a bit of a newb myself and am having trouble with identifying what is 'legal' on posh. Specifically, perfume?
Dec 12Reply

grayasparagus
@mysterygirl0305 the rules have changed a lot over the past couple of years so staying on top can be confusing! Perfume is not allowed neither is nail polish. Posh only ships through USPS and it is illegal to ship those items (I believe is the alcohol content/flammable) through that service so you cannot sell thru Poshmark.
Dec 12Reply

grayasparagus
@mysterygirl0305 please feel free to ask any more specifics and if I don't know I will point you in the right direction!

Hi! Good morning, have you ever had a problem with Poshmark delaying your direct deposit? I put in a request for direct deposit on the 22 of December and now it's the 27th. I made a couple request for direct deposit in the past with Poshmark and had no problems, the deposit was in my account the next day. But this time it's taking a long time.
Dec 27Reply

grayasparagus
@solacecloset hi! No I have not- I only request checks. I have heard of people having issues but am not sure of the causes. I am 100% sure that Posh will straighten out any issues- but that's stinks that there is a delay! I know banks have been closed for the long holiday so I am wondering if that has effected anything?

Mar 15Reply

grayasparagus
@raninmyheart hi! When someone makes an offer on a bundle it shows you what the total would have been with the discount- so in my experience the offer price is typically lower and is the final price if you accept. Thanks for pointing out about the blog post- I need to update it!!

urgentemergency
Hello! Thank you for all your advice. I'm not sure if you've answered this already, but do you think there is a minimum for how low you should price your items? Sometimes it's hard to tell if I'm undervaluing a piece of clothing simply because my own personal style is changing. I usually try to value items based on their quality or original retail price, but sometimes I list items lower than they probably should be to attract potential buyers. What do you think is a good pricing strategy?
Apr 23Reply

grayasparagus
@urgentemergency Hey! Pricing is a personal choice... and based on so many things- some of which you mentioned. Some people price low bc they are trying to just get rid of things and others are running a business. When I price things I check out what similar (or same) items are listed at and then also check the SOLD filter to see what they actually sell for. Hope that helps!

I would love any suggestions, advice on my closet or how I am running it etc. I have only been selling on posh really actively for less than a yr and most recently I have become addicted.

I can't seem to get the sales, likes and followers I am so enviously seeing others get and am wondering if I am doing something wrong?! Or maybe it just takes time... Anyways I am super inspired and am about to move and might try to convince the hubby to let me have a "posh corner" to stage and store my items! You inspired me this morning. Thank you!! p.s. love your username :) xo

@sammypants hey! I quickly looked over your closet and it looks great! Honestly, when you see someone with tons of followers they are typically a suggested user. If you get a chance, check out my blog (site is in description of listing of link in my "about me") and search for the post "The Real Deal: Becoming and Being a Suggested User"... it will explain what you have to do to be one. Other than that keep up what you are doing 😀

Jun 21Reply

grayasparagus
@sammypants right now, worn bras and swimsuits (even the bikini bottoms) are allowed. And correct- all panties must be NWT.

@grayasparagus LOVE your blog. It's been helping me so much as I start on my posh journey! Two questions: (1) Can you post/edit from your computer or only a device? That's really bugging me because sometimes I want to make an edit when I'm on a laptop!
Jun 25Reply

fentothreads
@grayasparagus and (2) I know you specialize in reselling great finds. Do you have advice on how to buy from friends? I have friends that want me to sell some things, but I don't know how to "price" my services for them if that makes sense. Do I just buy their good and then sell it or split?
Jun 25Reply

grayasparagus
@fentothreads thank you so much! Unfortunately, editing/listing is online able to be done on the app, I wish you could from a computer too!! As far as selling for friends- I don't really have too much advice. A normal consignment usually splits it 40/60 some 50/50. I sell some for my best friend and I really only keep enough to cover my costs and not much more- but that's just our arrangement . It just depends really! Hope that helps!

@izzykai hi there! Not sure I can narrow it down to just 3! But great photos, sharing, and having product that people are searching for.

Good morning! ☀ I'm curious about the morning themed parties particularly the Tory Burch and Kate spade parties. Why are there no host picks? Thanks for taking the time to answer. 😊🌷
Apr 29Reply

grayasparagus
@glasshselndry hey there! Only parties with “hosts” have host picks 🙂
Apr 29Reply

wild_boheme
@grayasparagus ahhh, that explains it. Thank you! I LOVE your blog. I'm going to try the price filter when I list. I never thought that. Another question. Any suggestions on running a successful share group? 🤔
Apr 29Reply

grayasparagus
@glasshselndry i actually have never run one and do not currently participate in any, however, @erikagannon has a great one that she has been doing for YEARS. @erikagannon do you have any tips or tricks! ☝️

I enjoy reading your blog and the Q&A. Very helpful. I have question. I just came across a listing I shared where a buyer created a new account to purchase a $1,100 designer handbag. Seller cancelled due to buyer’s lack of history. My question is: Since the bag would go through Poshmark Concierge for authenticity verification and then sent to the buyer, wouldn’t that not make the sale final? That way the seller is protected.

@lilyspring thanks so much! I have no clue- sounds like a specific situation 🤷♀️
