@aspitzig I wish! My dad bought it for me in Gibraltar, Spain in 1995 when we were on a vacation. He paid $1,650.00 for it, that's all my mom and I could remember. It's definitely authentic, but I priced it low because I don't have the papers for it and my dad passed away in 1999 :-(

@gmad I went to a jewelry and to a watch store yesterday and they told me that this number is a starting point for this kind of watch. I knew it was an authentic Cartier since I was there when my father bought it at the jeweler and I know what he paid for it, but I was unaware of it's true value. I'm also going to post it on eBay. I'm glad I took the time to find out since I wouldn't have been happy at all later on once I find out how much this watch is really worth. So yes, you're right, the number has changed.

@catherines That is very true, I appreciate the good advice. I'm new to this... I'm a true collector, and it took me quite a bit of self convincing to start separating from the things I love. I went to a jewelry and a watch store on Saturday, and they told me to start this watch off at $1,750. I remember how much it cost but that was long time ago so I really had no idea on how much to list it for. This should buy a lot of diapers and other things my baby boy needs :-)

@fccandles Awww, thanks love, that's so sweet of you to say :-) As long as he's healthy and happy and well taken care of, I don't care about possessions and material things for myself. This watch is important to me in a different way though. It used to be my dad's, and he passed away in 1999. It's a much bigger sacrifice than anything else in my Posh closet. But I feel like he'd want me to sell it and deposit the money into a savings account for his grandson. I'm sure he'll need other things growing up than a Cartier watch - even though it is so gorgeous ;-)
