Each 6-8” oyster shell was collected from the shores of the USA’s oldest city Saint Augustine, Florida. Each is rimmed with gold paint enhancing its natural imperfections and mounted to blue and white checkered fabric covered wood. Only repurposed materials purchased from various nonprofit organizations that support our local community were used to create this limited edition piece. Each handmade and designed piece in the 410 Designs 2023 Summer Collection is signed and numbered. Each item in this collection is a limited edition. Each design is created using found objects and materials sourced locally at community nonprofit thrift stores that support the homeless women of Northeast Florida. Collected on my beach walks along the Atlantic shoreline in Saint Augustine,these coastal home oyster shells are found imperfect items. Years among the waves, each is different and handpicked for its personality. They are cleaned, dried in the Florida sunshine and painted.
