jenny81138 @1smokey1 No, and it has nothing to do with the design. Unfortunately many sellers describe every jewelry piece as tarnish free & yes if asked about water. They will not chance losing an order so they answer whatever way necessar. What matters is the metal composition. Only REAL gold (safest is 24k) or silver, platinum, palladium, stainless steel, or titanium are safe to shower/get wet.

jenny81138 @1smokey1 You still have to worry about harsh soap chemicals & high chlorine levels though as well as pieces that contain gemstones or diamonds. Other metals like copper (easily found in the other 7.5% of sterling silver), brass (common metal under gold plating, bronze, or other base metals will tarnish quickly. Many swear by polishing with clear nail polish to prolong shine. It works great!
