Poshmark went private public and now private again
Can you guess why ? Poshmark eats my lunch!

@ezbuy100 I agree with you. No platform charges a 20% fee. Sometimes you lose profit just to make one sale while they automatically make a profit off you. Poshers add Poshmark fees to their items thereby making it difficult to make a sale. They can have more breaking ground highlights and sales but this fee is a big factor. They should also have the option to ship small items with ground shipping which costs from $3.22 to $4.99 Imagine buying eyelashes for $5 and then pay a $7+ shipping fee.

Hello,
All you're said are so true. However;
not all Poshers understand the concept of lost and profits margin specially for those who call it side hustle not a real business.
I had try live selling 3 times I made my decision it doesn't suit my business model because Poshmark fees remains the same no matter what my sell is.
Shipping is unreasonable at Poshmark I had in many occasion called them out on it but Poshmark is yet, to response.

@glogestore I totally agree with these shipping costs are outrageous plus poshmark's fee if I sell an item and listed for 210 somebody offers 150 I am making 120 there has to be an even level for seller and buyer and Poshmark still getting a fee but can looking at how many sellers and buyers use Poshmark the numbers out way for what they're putting out in fees

@maisonfleurant I totally agree I can't even begin to waste my time doing a show and you're not doing any better because the sales you're making you're still paying shipping whether the wait is 1 lb 2 lb 3 lb you're still paying for something that's 5 lb that doesn't seem fair and their fees you would think they would be less because of the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people selling and buying on Poshmark they are making a killing on us

It would be awesome if Amazon (affiliate or parent company?) could offer a lower shipping rate to new Poshers or for Live Shows…?ever feel like Poshmark turns us into shopaholic hoarders?but I guess we gotta work hard to get items OUT.Obviously getting items IN is easier! I do enjoy the little human interaction we enjoy as Poshers. Maybe we can try for more of that, that doesn’t cost us $, 🥰 like silly meetings to talk about good stuff/bad stuff together!

@ezbuy100 can you please elaborate on how PM is collecting fees from both buyers and sellers? Also how do they inflate shipping fees on items 1lb & under( as you stated)? As far as I remember, PM has always collected a flat rate for all items under 5LBS. Wether it’s 1-5LBS it’s always a flat rate. Over the years the price of shipping has slightly increased across the platform. I’d like to hear from you regarding your comments/concerns. Are there new updates we are unaware of? TIA

That’s was disappointing.
When it’s comes to Posh show with all due respect any professional seller who consciously working , knowing their worth will not do it. Certain sellers established some ground rules for their shows that fit their business models, I respect that.
But, the show for me doesn’t work so, I stay to the Poshmark community before.

I’d like to see a report of how many people save my show, a list of attendees, an archive of the chat for each show to start. I would also like to be able to go through my sold listings and see them by date sold.

I dont think i would have stayed all these years without the human connection.
Yes i do have some frustrations with pm, mainly with the android app since live shows.
But... i have been poshing before they had a bundle section, bulk sharing or draft listings to name just a few, so i have watched pm grow and give us some awesome tools and there are always growing pains. PFFs help us get thru 🤗

@ezbuy100 This just happened to me on my Live Auction. I had to cancel the entire order to prevent customer from being upset because either charged her twice for same item on a won bid. Once I canceled the won auction items to correct the Internal Poshmark error. She did not honor my request to send the won auction item at same rate...

@kcancun19 and I’d also like to say maybe revisit their fees for items under $15. You sell a $5 item, Poshmark cut is $2.95. That’s a nearly 60% profit for them. Makes it not worth it to sell most things under $15

But I do agree 20% is high I have been on a another platform for 24 years I only pay 7% fee on sales and pay 22 dollars a month for my store maintenance and the shipping is a lot cheaper by the oz to pound

PM’s collecting on 💰sales%, 💰pay-per-click ads on website, 💰promoted closet mo. fee, 😀shipping/USPS sweetheart deal, 💰list perfectly referal cut, 💰$interest on our cash until item are accepted. PM has us doing Live Shows, Hosting Parties & driving our followers to the site for FREE. There’s big $ being made behind-the-scenes.

@lucy13closet Yes, the lack of PM policy enforcement has been a real problem. Another big issue is that PM allows live hosts to do blind, Quick-List listings. MANY Prohibited items are being moved on the site this way. A buyer has NO RECOURSE if an item with no pix or description is flashed in the live show for 60 seconds, then a dirty, broken, replica or replacement item is received. Blind listings also falsify the show hosts’ stats, & can’t be used by other PM sellers for comp pricing.

@iused2bcool So many veteran Poshers (like me) have paid dearly in PM fees, our time, shares, purchases, & have brought our social media followers onto the site…but we can’t or won’t do lives. (I have medical issues and no space to do them) Now non-host sales have plummeted. Many are stuck with lots of inventory. Lives should have been introduced on a totally separate app/site so that we non-live show, “backbone of Poshmark” members weren’t crippled financially. 🥲

@acelestialsoul I understand 😕 my sales plummeted on every platform this year. I started PM back in 18'-19' & deleted after I had my son. SAHM & his medical needs brought me back. restarted PM last year due to all other platforms slowing down.PM has done what they've done, but they're my best performing platform which isn't saying too much these days. I used to be able to source a few times weekly, pay bills, & have pocket money. I miss that. I miss things actually moving.

@vitaminjoy I agree. You sell here they charge you 20% the buyer decides to Reposh and they still charge the person 20% it's insane how much they make. Reposh items should have tax and 20% Posh fees cos the first buyer and seller paid those fees. The owners should be considerate of their fees. I wish they could read all these comments and make some adjustments.

My oldest son is here w/me in our downsized tiny rental & works 18+ hours a day to help me. I have a sciatica./hip/back injury & have the ortho surgeon next week. I really needed the $ I was making here. I’m broke & financially ruined.

@abigdealhere I, too, have done silent some shows as well as be part of others' silent shows. Here's my takeaway. They can be more relaxing, seller can conduct business from anywhere they are. Buyer experiences a show they, too, can participate in from anywhere without missing out on hearing the host. Especially if they are somewhere they can't use volume at that time. Like a classroom, Dr ofc, etc.

My closet or items to sell are not hundreds of pieces. I'm methodical of what I put in front of potential customers. Therefore, my silent or live shows don't go on for 7 or 8 hrs. But I do want exposure to sell to end buyers, not resellers like myself. I'm less than a year on Posh. My shoppers have style and know a good thing when they see it 🥰 I wish the fees weren't so steep I surely would offer more items. Then I could price to sell to anyone.

@maisonfleurant The shipping seemed unreasonable to me when I first joined but after pricing the same box outside of poshmark, through the post office, I realized it was actually a great deal on priority shipping. In fact, I mailed something first class the other day, which weighed only 3 ounces and was very small. It costed me over $5.00!

@acelestialsoul hopefully this year is better for us. I know it's all heavy on your heart. I wish I could send you peace, hugs, and a slew of sales. My son is 3 and has these cancer screenings every 3 months. they said that it'd get easier, but my heart breaks every time he goes through it & so does our bank acct cause health insurance is a scam. 😣 this used to be our saving grace. maybe PM could look into separating Lives to another app now that there's an audience for that type of sales.

In regards to the shipping charge.
The USPS has just updated their prices for the new year.
However; the small packages under 1 pound still benefit from the USPS advantage program.
I am also a cosmetics these products are very small like mascaras, lipsticks and single eyeshadows.
I will feel very sad if I have to charge my customers 6 or 7. 99 for a single lipstick that is less than 1 pound.

Luckily at Amazon seller set their methods of shipping and I believe that’s the point poshmark sellers are talking about.
Don’t charge buyers 7.99 for a lipstick.
If poshmark can fix some few little bumps I believe we will grow stronger and stronger.
I love poshmark but, we need to clean our little dirts as a community.

@maisonfleurant I like that the shipping set up encourages bundles. I wouldn't make much on a single tube of lipstick after poshmark seller fees. This way, the seller can make a decent profit and the buyer can get more in a bundle for a lot less that the post office would charge for priority. I also love that I never have to look for all different sizes of boxes. Most orders fit one or the other priority box. I honestly hope they never change it but I get your point too. I can't stand the big A

@pandorastrunk I really feel like Poshmark should make Poshmark Shows a secondary app all together. It's a different platform of selling altogether. "We" shouldn't have to compete with that. Especially since we helped build this platform. Our fees are already outrageous.We can't survive against this much longer.

Manish set built us an amazing platform, one that was different from all the others! The social aspect & the strong kindness to help eachother sell WAS amazing & sales were great! I feel that it would be great if this new "team" of people would at least give us a split platform!

I'm happy that some of the poshers can make money off the lives but not all of us can do the lives (medical, physical, lack of space or maybe just because ALot of us have built our business a way that worked for us).

It seems that the very large majority of poshers that have been on here for more than 2 years either can't for one of the reasons I mentioned above or have tried it in different ways but it's not working for them.

I simply don't have a place to do them, more so, I physically just can't with my disabilities plus my OCD, it would have to be perfect in my head & there's just no way I could in the place I live right now. It allowed me to get enough $ to take my kids & run to a safe place out of that state but now I'm facing homelessness with 2 of my kids.

@poshvegasvip I've never as a seller paid for shipping unless I personally offered a buyer a shipping discount. I don't understand why that person is talking so much smack about live shows & Poshmark in general but she's got a live show scheduled. Seems like biting the hand that feeds you.

We weren't asked to bring these shows in here, I never cross posted because I didn't need to. I can't thrift so ALL of my inventory is brand new with tags or package. if it's used it's very lightly used.

@maisonfleurant We were encouraged to shop through the wholesale part of Posh which helped us build a business we could be proud of. Now the main thing I see is used items are best, but I CAN'T THRIFT. Now I have so much brand new inventory that I have to pay for a 10x10 storage unit of $342. a month. So please just understand that we have the same right as every other posher to be heard.

It took me a very long time & I've gone through a lot of hurdles & pain to build my business but it was worth it. Now when we start using the " My Shoppers Tool" to promote our business we get very unnecessary rudeness because it's in their feed, but we can't complain having all the "live show" announcements in ours?!?

There is no balance to it. To say we should just close down if we don’t or can't adapt to the lives is just plain heartless! @iused2bcool Thank you. Prayers and hugs to your family. My final numbers on closet insights came out for 2023. I did less than 1/2 the sales than I did prior to the live shows. Fact. The overall price point on the site has dropped to garage sale prices. My dog has to go to the vet. I need sales $ a huge cash infusion. Poshmark isn’t doing ANYTHING for the loyal Veterans that built and paid for PM’s success.

@maisonfleurant Just a heads up: USPS “ground advantage” is very slow. From Hawaii to the mainland, my sales take 3-4 WEEKS to deliver. PM makes the entire electronics category go that way-even NON-BATTERY media i.e., CDs DVDs LPs. (PM holds buyer’s funds extra long collecting interest & buyers aren’t charged less for waiting longer.)

It would be cool if PM ate the cost of everything under 3lbs to ship. So if your items weighs less than 3 pounds shipping is free on poshmark! That would increase sales and drive way more traffic.

Accept it for what it is or move on is my mantra. Some of the live shows are quite nice. Then, you have the train wrecks who are sitting on their beds complaining about not selling anything, yet not offering anything. My biggest gripe is with the sellers who swear and use totally unacceptable language. I think they like the platform because they feel they have a television show like Howard Stern. Very unacceptable, especially for a person shopping for the first time. Clean it up “ladies”!

Ok!! Well I for one have tried really hard to establish a little online fun business. But my experience is I’ve bought more than I’ve sold. And I agree with some of the other comments here. PM can get better on shipping costs both seller ( s/b optional) seller ship our selves. No cost to poshmark. We set the cost for the buyer not poshmark!! I have yet to profit. I don’t deal in luxury items. Im disabled/artist trying to make bit of money to afford life. I’m unable to do live shows!!🤷

…technical support. I was unable to get back into my acct. after purchasing a new phone , I had issues with lost passwords etc. not sure why it took 3 months. I tried to get back in. There is no number or person. Support respond to me by messages. having a posh ambassador I guess message back with answers.

Please consider developing Poshmark Shows into a completely separate app. It’s a different selling platform. It's ruining the base closet sellers that helped build Poshmark from the start. @glogestore Poshmark is the only organization that has a community of sellers sharing each other's closets. Poshmark also has a lot of campaigns to help sellers such as closet clear out, posting new items, and buying with great prices.
And of course, I give Poshmark's customer service five stars. They are quick, helpful, and fair with sellers and customers.
There is no other company that comes near to the creativity to help us all. So what about 20% fee. It's worth every penny 😉

this 2024 I hope for a fair change on POSHMARK percentage from 20% to 10% because i can't start my POSHOWS with $5 items I invested way to much on my closet 😢

@pseabreeze totally true, I was looking for those exact words 👍 I not making to much sales because people is wanting for the show expecting $5 dollars items I can't do that price on everlane, free people, weworewhat etc etc brand new items the " profit" for $5 is noting it didn't pay my time, my internet, the packaging, the gas, the ink, the paper...and much more.

@moongoddess7 I'm agree with you, I identified my situation with what you are saying, this was my full time job plus dealing with depression and then it was impossible to make my goals on sells now this is my part time job and I continue struggling because I want to try other platforms but PM don't allow that.

@fashionbaubles Thank You! Why do people not realize that the Promoted Closet is BS, us sharing eachothers closets was the way Posh was built! Not pay to "promote", I did the trial, I have a huge 7+ years closet. Not 1 Sale during that trial period!

Tip: During your live shows, mention that if buyers would like other things from your closet after the show, that you will create a custom bundle for them. Then make sure the still get the show prices on items they bought during the show. It’s upselling, but it’s also helping your customers get the most out of the shipping fee.
You can also send a message to the people who bought. It often results in additional purchases.
