@paolarocanlover oh, I'm too nervous to host as well. But if you just comment in their party post they will then look at your closet and maybe pick your item as a host pick and it gets shared a lot. Usually the evening party covers most categories including jewelry. They may just follow and share your items!

I run my mom's posh closet too since over a year already & I've had poshers negatively comment on my listings saying "please take this down/you should consider deleting this & blah blah blah" Honestly it's annoying & mean lol

This one was taken outside of a shop in Melrose, Hollywood called "Necromance" they literally sell dead animals & grimly stuff. Never entered, just windowshopped lol

@paolarocanlover yup! I went to beauty school from high school because I hated school (1982). After dozens of career changes I decided to go to college at 27. I went part time for 3 years while working full time. Then 1 year full time. I have an A.A. Degree, worked from home for a bit but now I'm a mom. I designed some of the non sale items. I still love it! This is a good outlet for my creative side.💞

@paolarocanlover I so get the art thing. If I were doing my graphic design, my rate used to be 60 per billable hour. I'd do 100 now. (I always put many more hours in than I charged btw). Hit me at 12 on custom, I mean it. Also, I only have a dozen clothing items, a hundred pieces of jewelry I kept for myself. She got rid of the hats SHE MADE! My mom was a milliner. She made her suit she wore at her wedding. I miss her every day. Those shoes are crocodile. Insane!

My grandmother made some of my clothes when I was little, old school Italian, immigrated from Italy through Euraguay. She was amazing! I am very fortunate that I had to wonderful and unique parents. @shopahola are you asking about how you receive a host pick? Before someone hosts a party they look through closets recommended by other people. ie. I see a post of someone I know having a party, I say congrats, and recommend a closet(s) of people I know that are great poshers. On the day of the party they may pick your item as a host pick. It then goes on the party Host Pick Feed during the party.

@singaporejones It's a combination of black and red in one seed. This is why I post two pics to show it's a double-sided bracelet. Perhaps you've never seen these kind of bracelets b/c they are most commonly seen with the Latino culture. It's simply to bring good luck and prosperity in the belief of the Peruvian culture.

@singaporejones Most craft seeds may be poisonous if eaten & of course you wouldn't let a baby eat these including yourself. I simply sell these as a beauty accessory & if a person is interested and has informed themselves about this seed before purchasing they know the warnings. I have sold these in the past & no body has reported an issue or even a death with these....

Yeah, I haven't traveled much to either Latin or South America, more's the pity. Would love to see various of the Mesoamerican ruins as well as the Nazca lines. Actually, now I'm curious about something else - I know the Mayans valued turquoise (at least the greener sort they had, usually) for prosperity and good luck, but does that association carry all the way down to Peru? (A lot of the southwestern Indian tribes, esp around the Four Corners, thought turquoise provided protection to travelers, but I haven't seen that referred to in Mesoamerican lit....)

@singaporejones I'm no expert in Latin American history, but based in my history class/books I know that as you said Mayans value turquoise in means of prosperity. However, that doesn't apply to Peru. The Incas were known much for their wealth in gold unlike the Mayans who valued stone like turquoise. I just want to let you know the Huayruro seed bracelets aren't handmade by me, I bought these along with my other bracelets at a Mexican/Peruvian shop in LA!

I did see you bought the bracelets you're offering here - was a smidge disappointed since I always like meeting crafters on here and other sites. 😁 Right, I should've remembered about the Incas' gold (duh, been too long and been up since 6). I've studied Latin American lit some (and grew up in TX), but being about as white as it gets (with a few drops of Cherokee), I only "get" it to a point. 😕 Sadly!

I'll just add that among the other things you've read or are reading (trying to skip obvious stuff), you might check out Rosario Castellanos and Tino Villanueva. Rosario was Mexican; Tino is Chicano and writes in Spanish. There's also the poetry of Oscar Hahn, who was born in Chile. 😊

Dealing with customers is difficult, especially when we're proud of our work and it feels like it's being criticized. I'm a graphic designer and I had to muddle my way of a few times when people were unhappy even if I gave them what they wanted. Hang in there.😉

@paolarocanlover I read her review. I've never looked at love notes before. I went to find my negative love note and it was gone. I got a 1 because I blocked the woman after repeated emails about a shipping error I did. My rating went back up to 5 and I think the negative note went away when my rating changed back. I'm sorry that happened.

@yugiohmom Why don't you try VSCO app? It's a great app for photography editing anyway :) I use that one for rad filters & for contrast & brightness alterations. Download it & tell me if it works for your preference. What I do is simply edit my pictures on my iPod on the edit icon in the photo album. Works for me fine!

I don't make custom orders before purchasing b/c in the past I've had poshers bail out & I just end up with customs. But the hot pink skull is an exception as I can sell it on here.
