~ From my big mama / x large prickly pear bush TWO (2) organically grown prickly pear pad from our large healthy mama cactus ~ This species has lovely deep pink flowers and fruit. It is edible. These have small, hairlike prickles called glochids. Handle / plant with tongs or leather gloves ~ Please see the photos, the first one is the mama cactus plant :) ~ Pear pads will be shipped bare root, they should be dried and callused over for a few days and then placed in the ground or a pot of soil. They root and grow fast! ~ Please place pup starter seed pad directly into soil and into indirect or filtered sunlight for 4-6 weeks. Water sparingly. Repeat - water sparingly! ~ Pup pads are between 4" and 8" ~ Rooted, somewhat mature prickly pear love direct, full sun. At least 6 hours a day or more. Infrequent watering, once weekly at most. Succulents thrive in well-draining cactus/palm soil, in the ground or in a pot with drainage holes. Too much sitting water will cause the plant and/or roots to rot. Early, weekly at most morning watering is sufficient for most succulents. Avoid watering the leaves of the plant. ***Colder/ Warmer climates will call for different care practices.
