19th Century Brass Push Up Candlesticks. Thick red glass globes in very good condition. Please see photo of spot on base of one candlestick (may buff out??). Base has anchor and star symbol on bottom which research shows was made by Desmarais & Robitaille, Ltd. in Canada. The model of these candlesticks were manufactured through the 1860's (info credit to similar item sold online). Some small defects from age but overall very good condition. Holds tapered candles. All mechanics seem to be in place for tapers but I have not used the pushup mechanism. Believe these to be church goods. Candle base measures 4.25". Height with globe is 15.75". I used these for years in my dining room but used battery candles because cleaning wax is no fun. They glow beautifully. I have had comments that they may have been used for sanctuary lighting. Do not know history. I purchased these at an estate auction approximately 20 years ago.
