1990s era handmade sterling silver red bead dangle necklace

Purchased this handmade necklace at a craft fair in the late 90s. Sterling silver with dark red beads. Not sure if they are garnets or crystals. Beads may look black in regular lighting because they are so dark. Necklace is 18 inches long.
