Plate is 7-1/2” in diameter. Bradex No 60-V25-1.9 Plate No. 1576 The Legend: Plate #9 is inspired by the famous Russian opera of the story of Sadko by Rimsky-Korsakov and V. I. Bielsky. It is a story of a wild and crazy and wondrous singer who grants a request to sing and his song tells of his belief that their city on a lake is cut off from the ocean and many marvelous fortunes that could be theirs. Dismissed by the merchants, he goes to the lake and sings, the swans are charmed, one turns into the Sea Princess Volkhova who has fallen in love with Sadko’s sweet voice. The story has many turns thereafter as goes on a 12 year journey. Intended as decoration, each plate has cleverly concealed holes in the back making it easy to hang the plates for display. (TV-112322)
