1987 Avirex USN flight jacket, size small. This is an example of the many Avirex top gun jackets made right after the first top gun movie. This jacket was made two years after the movie was released, and has four of the same patches found on the jacket used in the movie. The patch on the back is a Korean blood chit. The leather is soft and has a vintage look, and the knits on the wrists and waistband are flawless. The zipper works exactly as intended, and operates smoothly. The inside lining is perfect except for a small rip near the top as indicated by the photos. The map on the inside shows German-occupied France during WWII. Behind the collar, the classic USN acronym is stamped in a yellow typical of early Navy jackets. There is some slight damage on the collar, but it is not very visible while wearing. The buttons in the front pockets are missing. Overall, this is a great example of authentic-looking USN flight jackets for anyone hoping to capture that sleek, military look.
