1980s Coach NYC Basic Bag in Burgundy Leather Coach New York City Bag 70s Coach

A beautiful 1980s Coach Basic Bag shoulder bag in burgundy leather. Bag features large brass zipper closure at top with wristlet strap that doubles as a zipper pull and detachable double strand shoulder strap. Strap detaches if you wish to carry the bag as an elegant clutch. Interior has a large main compartment with smaller slip pocket inside. Made from thick and buttery soft glove tanned leather in burgundy. Bag is marked with the Coach creed and stamped No. 960-3001. Oddly, the style number was glued in upside down on this one, ha! Bag was made before style numbers were stamped beneath the creed, but is listed as style no. 9455 in advertisements from the 1980s. Made in New York City. Measurements - Width: 11" Height: 7" Depth: 2.25" Strap Length (not including hardware): 36" Condition: Good vintage condition with some deep stains on the backside of the purse, lots of patina to the leather, some light patina to the hardware (though I have polished it up!), a bit of color loss on the edges, a little hole in the piping on the front edge of the purse, and a tiny dent in the strap. Interior is clean. Flaws are taken into account with pricing. This one was a labor of love, as it came to me in really rough shape. I have deep cleaned and reconditioned this bag using Leather CPR and Blackrock.
