Classy! Created by Anson, these mortar and pestle symbol cufflinks have a nice gold tone brushed finish. Cufflinks measure approximately 11/16-inch wide x 3/4-inch high. Pre-owned, these 1970's cufflinks are in pretty good condition without any spotting, but do have some surface scratches and nicks.
The mortar and pestle dates back to 1759. The mortar and pestle are traditional tools used in compounding of medications by apothecaries. They are used in grinding and trituration of different pharmaceutical ingredients in extemporaneous preparations. The mortar and pestle pharmacy logo is still used in Scotland, and the United States.
