1970s Old Willow Stoke-On-Trent Blue Willow Plate 10” English Ironstone Pottery The Blue Willow Pattern was first engraved by Thomas Minton in 1780 - for a century and a half the "Willow Pattern" became a stock-pattern of dozens of Stoke-on-Trent pottery manufacturers, and although at times its popularity has waned, it eventually returned to favor as a contrast to the contemporary ware developing from the 1950's onwards.
