1970s Dark Red Velvet and Plaid Polyester party dress

Reposhing this item I purchased from @kimitha. Fits smaller than I'd hoped based on the marked size. Here was the original seller's description: Vintage no label dress dark red velvet top plaid bottom perfect for holiday party size 15-16 ~ great dress in condition for age has not been cleaned recently has been sitting in a closet on a mannequin with measurement bust 34"/ waist 24"/ hips 34". My additions: There's a half an inch tear near the hemline (pictured) and a small black mark near it. It also has several tiny holes. They aren't that noticeable, which is possibly why the previous seller didn't mention them, but I included a photo with an example of the two I think are the worst. The others are even smaller and are largely camouflaged by the pattern. Dress is marked vintage 15/16. I would put it close to a modern size Medium? I wonder if it was a junior's size? I feel like usually a vintage 16 is close to a modern 10 and this is more like an 8. Polyester skirt has a nice sheen to it. Makes it look a little nicer than normal polyester. ;) Union label is one that was generally used between 1964 and 1973... This dress feels solidly in the '70s to me.
