1969 JFK Silver Half Dollar Necklace

The John F. Kennedy Half Dollar has been minted by the United States since 1964, replacing the Franklin Half Dollar. This coin was intended to be a a memorial to the late president, and features his bust on the obverse and a modified version of the presidential seal on the reverse. Half dollars minted from 1964-1970 contain silver, with coins minted after 1964 containing 40% silver, which makes these the last circulating US coins to be minted with real silver.
