I have never come across another jacket quite like this…It’s AMAZING.
Designed by Elinor Simmons for Malcolm Star during the 1960s is this double breasted sequin covered bright red jacket.
It’s made of beautiful mid-weight crepe wool shaped with princess seams and shoulder darts. The hip-length jacket tapers through the waist before flaring out slightly at the hem. Concealed snap closures are topped with decorative sequin covered buttons. Matching red nylon lines the interior.
The jacket was originally sold at John Hogan department store. The Hogan Co. for many years was synonymous in Southern California with high fashion for women. The first store opened in 1958 in La Jolla. - From Vintage Fashion Guild
