1960s Gold Tone Spanish Damascene Panel Bracelet Seven Domed Links with Birds Flowers Safety Chain
Vintage Spanish damascene bracelet with bright gold plating with matte black, birds and flowers motifs on seven long domed rectangular panels, with a guard chain. I believe it is dove birds, which represent peace and love. Damascene bracelets always have a dramatic flair! This bracelet most likely originates with the tourist trade and has a substantial look and feel.

About Damascene Crafting:
Inlaid goods - damasquinado or damasquino in Spanish - is the art of decorating steel with threads of gold and Silver.
Damascening is an art of inlaying different metals into each other
(Usually embedding gold or Silver in a dark oxidized steel background),
To produce a complex pattern similar to Nillo. The English term comes from the similar feeling to the rich brocade pattern of brocade silk.
The technology is still used in cities with a long history in Damascening, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Toledo, Spain, Eibar, the Basque Country, and Kyoto, Japan.
