Mid-century era Frederick Post Versalog 1460 Hemmi Bamboo slide rule, made in Japan. Frederick Post Slide Rule model 1460 Manufacturing Date: Stamped “FH” corresponding to August 1955. Markings on the side read: CAT. NO. 1460 / VERSALOG / FREDERICK POST CO. / HEMMI BAMBOO - JAPAN / FH Center bamboo piece moves smoothly, glass lens-piece has no scratches or cracks. It comes complete with a nice dark brown leather carrying/storage case with no markings or drawings. It does have some scratches on the bottom corner. The clip-on leather belt loop handle and stainless steel hardware are in great condition. The Post Versalog Bamboo slide rule was designed for engineers, students and businessmen before calculators became prevalent. The Versalog was renowned for its accuracy.
