Vintage 1950's US Navy USN White Wide Leg Sailor Uniform.
This exceptional Navy Uniform has the matching Shirt and Pants. Both pieces marked "Skypeck Jr.".
Pants are 3 button front closure. Two Front Slit Pockets. Pants are intentionally shorter length on one side to allow for easier removal of the pants in the water, as in the case of a ship sinking or one falling overboard.
Navy White Cracker Jack Shirt has two Front Slit Pockets.
Left Sleeve has Rating Insignia / Badge signifying USN Aviation Electronics Tech - Petty Officer Third Class.
Right Sleeve has patch "Airdevron 1" - the shortened version of "Air Development Squadron".
AIRDEVRON 1 likely refers to the Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron 1 (VQ-1), a Naval Aviation Unit specializing in Aerial Reconnaissance and Signals Intelligence. This Squadron, nicknamed "World Watchers", initially began during WWII and was officially instituted in the 1950's.
