Vintage General Mills Products Control Service Box For the Professional/Amateur Baker or Food Enthusiast! This is a very rare and unique find, in its complete state.
This professional bakers product control box was presented to Dan Lloyd’s Bakery April 28, 1948 as shown on the interior owners sticker.
This collection of recipes & tips manufactured by General Mills and provided to bakers to whom General Mills supplied raw materials, such as flour, etc. The metal box contains several hundred recipe cards designed to provide formulae for baked goods to ensure quality control. The front section of the box is hinged and folds down to allow for easier access to the cards inside.
Sections include, among other categories: (1) Baking Data, (2) Merchandising and Advertising, (3) Breads, Rye, Whole Wheat, Rolls, Raisin Formulas, (4) Sweet Yeast Doughs, (5) Fried Cakes, (6) Cakes, (7) Icings, (8) Cookies, (9) Pastry, (10) Production and Operating Records, (11) Miscellaneous, (12) Brown 'N Serve. There is a selection of blue cards that also include sugar free recipes
Dimensions The box measures 6" by 6" by 5 1/2". Weighs about 6lbs.
Condition:
Cards and dividers: intact although some have smudging, wear, and/or creasing. Box: Has expected wear from use and age including scratches, scuffs, and discoloration, largely from age, use, and storage, as pictured in photos. The cards have a slightly musty odor that could be improved with airing out and natural sunlight if desired
