1940s Silk Harlequin Green and Cream Dress Size 2-4

1940/50s Silk Harlequin Green and Cream Dress Size 2 Fabulous long collar on this unique original vintage dress by Youth Guild of New York is a show stopper! Such a fun pattern too! Has light padding at the shoulders to give the dolman shoulders form. The gathered waist also has about a three inch organza type material to give the skirt some lift. Would look nice with a very light petticoat. Dress has metal side zipper in addition to the front buttons as is typical for a 1940s dress. Belt is missing. Please compare to a similar dress for a good fit and allow at least an extra two inches in the bust and waist. The silk has no stretch and should drape rather than create a snug fit. (Note: all circumference measurements were made lying down and doubled) Shoulder = 16.5” Bust = 38” Bodice length = 17” Waist = 26” Hips = open Length (waist to hem) = 31.5” The silk in the skirt looks very sturdy, but the silk in the bodice looks more delicate and I can see some evidence that it is more fragile. Price is reduced due to my uncertainty about the bodice sturdiness. No returns or exchanges.
