1940's Hand Painted Purple Glass Beauty Spot Jar

Absolutely stunning purple glass jar with a band the color of patina around the middle due to its age and hand painted white raised flowers. This belonged to my grandmother. She told me that when the ladies put their make up on that they always carried a little jar with their "beauty spots" in it. The jar is about 2" high with the lid closed and with the lid open the depth is about 3/4" . The hinge and clasp are intact and work with no issues. This is so beautiful and the purple looks so regal when the light shines on it. Inside there is a piece of what feels like soft leather or maybe sheep's skin. It is what they laid their "beauty spots" on. What a fantastic piece from an era gone by. Reference: Curio Drawer
