1940's 1950's BLACK VELVET DRESS M L

Late 1940's/early 50's era dress, in sumptuous black velvet! Bodice snaps closed, but has rhinestone buttons as "decorations". Side metal zip closure. One small belt loop on either side, but no belt. A touch of gather to the shoulders, I bet considering the era, that this originally had shoulder pads. Does not currently, however. This has a pink taffeta collar that appears to have been added at a later time? It doesn't seem to be original to the dress, but it was very nicely done. Can easily be removed to wear as a plain V neckline, or used as a template for replacement/interchangeable collars in different colors. Fantastic condition, will just need a quick re-steam before wearing, after its long journey to you. Fits approximately busty M to a small-waisted L, actual measurements below, no stretch. Shoulders: 15.5" Sleeves: 10" long, 13" around Bust: 43" (ok to be a little loose as long as the shoulders and waist fit well) Waist: 32.5" Hip: 44" Length: 17" shoulder to waist seam, 46" total length
