RGP is Rolled Gold Plated; 18K is planted in a thin layer of gold on the surface; keep surface dry and clean at all times or will tarnish when I bought this I thought it was closed on the bottom and was designed for holding a flower, but when received I found that the bottom was open. So, not to hold a flower, fyi. This is a lovely feminine sweet necklace with lots of pretty design elements.
