1800s SHAKER primitive OAK splint BUSHEL BASKET

Metal rod reinforcement for apple harvest! Field harvest basket with bent oak handle. Believed to be from northern pennsylvania/ohio. Authentic crack in oak bottom with berry stains. ( I saved some petrified blueberries will come with!) Shakers were good with metal(shoeing horses etc) and this basket was well thought out with the hand hammered metal reinforcement. No nails, tightly woven and still sturdy. Sits lopsided due to cracked bottom but still very functional.
