1/20th 12kt gold filled vintage Egyptian scarab bracelet. beautiful, dainty gemstones engraved with hyrogliphs found on ancient scarab charms. There are eight different gemstone scarabs set in bezels with a spring ring closure. Size: 7 1/4". Each of the 8 engraved gemstones is a different color, representing something unique. Ancient Egyptian scarabs were known for meaning protection, good luck, ornamentation, and celebration. An important spiritual metaphor, the scarab ultimately represented the eternal cycle of life, birth, death and ultimately, rebirth. The scarab was used by the ancient Egyptians as a symbol of the rising sun being pushed across the sky (just as the beetle pushes balls of dung across the sand), exemplifying the notion that the sun god can create his own means of rebirth.
