1/20th 12kt gold filled vintage Egyptian scarab bracelet. beautiful, dainty gemstones engraved with hyrogliphs found on ancient scarab charms. There are eight different gemstone scarabs set in bezels with a spring ring closure. Size: 7 1/4". Each of the 8 engraved gemstones is a different color, representing something unique. Ancient Egyptian scarabs were known for meaning protection, good luck, ornamentation, and celebration. An important spiritual metaphor, the scarab ultimately represented the eternal cycle of life, birth, death and ultimately, rebirth. The scarab was used by the ancient Egyptians as a symbol of the rising sun being pushed across the sky (just as the beetle pushes balls of dung across the sand), exemplifying the notion that the sun god can create his own means of rebirth. Scarab jewelry maintained an important role in funerary ritual among the ancient Egyptians, but the stones were popular also as good luck charms with the living. The jewelry reflects the beauty of early craftsmanship, and scarab artifacts remain, keeping alive the memory of a mysterious and fascinating culture. Despite this bracelet not being an acient Egyptian artifact, it is fairly old. Gaining popularity in the 1920s. that is most likely when this bracelet was created. the meaning remains the same though and the varying color gemstones are timeless and desirable.

shelljd6 Where is the Clasp?

carlie_scott @shelljd6 This bracelet doesnt have any sort of typical clasp. my best guess is, between the pink stone and the very dark blue stone, there are two circular findings. the finding closer to the dark blue stone is not completely welded shut, so with a little adjusting you'd be able to losen it enough to open and close the bracelet. good observation!
