"The Pallisers" closely follows the Trollope novels, although there were a few unnecessary deviations from the novels. miniseries and the novels tell the stories of English aristocrats over a period of approximately 20 years during the reign of Queen Victoria. Anthony Trollope explained that he wanted to explore how characters and customs naturally change with time. In this, he was brilliantly successful.
