This 18k Gold Filled (gold overlay) anklet have a durability life over 1 year. Made with 3% gold content using 18k.The alliance of the gold content, base metal, and protective coating technology are what make the item last for a longer period of time. Contains a much thicker layer of actual karat gold than "plated" gold and therefore lasts much longer than plated gold. The core of the piece is jeweler's brass while the outer core is a thick layer of heat & pressure-bonded solid gold. It is hypoallergenic and nickel, lead and cadmium free. Also, you can shower with it but i don't recommend it in pools or Ocean
