Read up on Vegan Leather, it seems to be the 'new leather' , as we see less animal cruelty and more alternative methods, plant based.;

This was a pick-up with a lot of bags and shoes at an estate sale, it smells like a leather, but there is no skin of the animal, and the seams are rubber like; We list it with 'faux' designation; Thanks for your introspective thinking.
