misslabelled @jakeamom12 Hi, sweets! Just wanted to say " chin-up, girl! " I know Fibro is truly an ass-kicker! But if it makes you feel any better ... I've got brain cancer; 4 tumors & 2 new lesions. Additionally, my father was just diagnosed with Leukemia. I have a sense of humor about it. I allow for good days but inevitably, I accept the bad days, too. "Chin-Up, doll!" Chin-Up!

misslabelled @jakeamom12 On another level, I hope you're not taking Lyrica ! It sucks ! Living in Downtown Chicago, NorthWestern developed that drug & it's awful! I'd love to chat, when you're ready. The Chronic Pain & Fatigue is complicated with my diagnoses of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever & getting viscously attacked by a convicted Felon a couple of years ago. East meets west medicine is Fabulous! I've got the morph, oxy & norco but Volteren Gel & Flector Patches are non-narcotic & THEY WORK! Acupuncture is amazing! Cupping, stretching & swimming also work well. I'd also suggest looking in to Allergan Studies ... Insurance pays! Feel free to call, anytime, doll, 312.282.2208, Paige. We're in this, together, sweets! Take care !

jakeamom12 @misslabelled no Lyrica!!! It did suck! Gained 50lbs and was like a zombie! I can't take any Fibro meds because I found out last year I have liver disease,so there's not much I can take anymore! I'm on Methadone(people look at me like I'm an addict) and just started Nucynta three days ago and it's making me I'll and I sware it's making the pain worse! How can pain meds make you hurt worse??? I have a great pain doc and we are trying to start over and find the right combo! I've also had three back surgeries, sciatic nerve damage, endometriosis. I had a hysterectomy at 30 so 14 yrs ago,but they have found that it's still n my bladder and they found that it's wrapped itself around my sciatic nerve. I guess they didn't get it all when they did the hysterectomy and it spreads anywhere you have scare tissue! In the six years I've been with her I've gone from a walker to walking on my own. I have to wear an ankle brace because of the sciatic nerve and I fall a lot and now my sacroiliac joint keeps popping out,so tomorrow I'm being fitted with a sacro belt to keep it in! I try to stay positive and my faith helps, but I have my days!

southernstyle88
southernstyle88 @jakeamom12 Hey Traci, You said you had elevated liver enzymes also & was hospitalized for an infection? They said I had elevated phosphatase levels & acute hep. Did you have that also? I go back Monday if not sooner to get more details to find out exactly what's going on inside of me. I also have Fibro, I've been in Lyrica for almost 6 years now. I still suffer with pain on a daily basis from bulging disc in the very middle of my back. What do you take for yours? Sherry
Mar 04Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @sherry8888 I have had liver disease for about a year now and it often flares on me,this time it was infected. I've had all the Hep vaccinations so they don't think it is hepatitis. I have a blood disorder called hemochromatosis that can affect your liver and if I produce too much iron makes it flare. I used to take Lyrica but when I was diagnosed with liver disease they took me off of it and I had a reaction to Savella. I gained 50lbs on Lyrica and it didn't help anyways. We are still working on new meds because so many interfere with your liver. I just started on a new med called Nucynta, I take methadone, diazepam and Lexapro. Nothing really helps, all the good meds mess with your liver so I can't take them. I've also had three back surgeries and have damage to my spinal cord(from surgery doc dropped a calcified piece of disc on it) and sciatic nerve damage. Along with Fibro I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome which means I don't make enough collagen to make my joints tight. I have most problems with my ankles, back and sacroiliac joint. I just started having to wear a belt to keep my sacro joint in place! I'm a mess for 43!!! My son also has some of the same issues unfortunately ....

lisabeez
lisabeez @ironwomen just read about your racing heart post here. Any insight from doctors on what that can be? I was just at the doctor for the same and of course EKG came back healthy and normal.. I'm completely baffled but don't feel "normal". I've had heart murmur for all my life and mom has MVP without symptoms. As for myself my thoughts were MVP but the doc says most with that don't have any symptoms
Mar 06Reply
ironwomen
ironwomen @lisabeez hi there! Yes, i was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic tacacradic syndrome or P.O.T.S for short. Basically, my heart racing like i am running a marathon while i am laying down. So naturally when i am sitting up and standing and of course running, it is waaaayyy off the charts. Sometimes heat, stress, sickness, pain, even lack of sleep can cause my heart to work harder than normal and i will have an episode where i have trouble catching my breath(it felt like i had a ten pound weight on my chest) get light headed and dizzy. When i first started getting tested for it, it was because i was sleeping sooo much and my fingers and feet would swell up when i took my normal ballet classes. I would get 12 hours of sleep, go to school, come home and fall asleep for 4 hours. Also, i wasnt able to run a mile with my gym class, i had to stop and lay down. When i went to the doctor, he took my heart rate laying down, sitting up, standing up, and then had me run up and down the stairs. He immedailty diagnosed me and gave me daily medication, which has helped me keep my heart rate down. It has helped me for years! There are many signs and symptoms for it, but my EKG came back fine too, and i even had echocardiogram. They didnt pick up on what i had because i was laying down for long a period of time which caused my heart to relax. There are tons of websites you can look up for signs and symptoms! But def talk your doctor and start recording your heart rate when you are laying down sitting up standing up etc. hope this helps! Ask any qus you want! ❌❀️❌❀️ here to help!

fabmommy1 @ironwomen @lisabeez - I have tachycardia....whatever you do - dont get an ablation if it can be avoided. I did and my adrenal glands shut down so I now live with complete adrenal insufficiency and depends daily on steroids to live. It has also caused kidney disease, stones, fibro, arthritis, memory loss, hair loss, bladder problems, afib, low immune system, and i STILL have tachycardia..and so much more. I couldnt take a beta blocker because it lowered my blood pressure too much so an ablation was my only choice. Praying for you girls daily. I know how bad it is.

jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @fabmommy1 thank youπŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–Since they found I have liver disease,it's been hard to find the right combo of meds! All the good ones effect your liver....
Mar 07Reply
fabmommy1
fabmommy1 @jakeamom12 - yes sadly basically any and all drugs effect the liver. I am stage 2 kidney failure, what stage are you in? I think your med combo is a pretty good one, minus the nucyenta. Have you ever tried oxycodone no apap (no tylenol). That would be a little less harsh on your liver than the nucyenta. Along with the methadone oxydone with no apap should be good for breakthrough pain if the nucyenta isnt helping. And depending on what stage kidney failure, diclofeniac is a mild anti-inflammatorty. Luckily right now I am still able to use naproxen which helps alot with this stupid weather. I wish it would pick if its gonna be hot or cold!! lol
Mar 07Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @fabmommy1 no kidney failure! Sorry if I mislead you! My liver disease is non alcoholic cirrhosis from having hemochromatosis, pre diabetes and long term med use. My hubby just found out he is diabetic,so the liver doc has put me on the diabetic diet with him, making sure my iron doesn't get out of control in hopes to reverse it or not get any worse! Although I have lots of pain with my liver and ended up in hospital recently and my liver function was up from the last time they checked,I also had some kind of infection. I've had all the vaccines for hepatitis. I just started the Nucynta ,so we will see! I had been on fentanyl patches but all they did was give me horrible hot flashes and I have plenty of those already! The pain doc I thought told me Nucynta was safe with the liver?? I haven't seen that it's doing anything special yet,but it's only been a couple weeks. It does make me very nauseated,so I have odanesterone?? ,for the nausea! For some reason I have a hard time finding oxcycodone around here! The drug stores never have it! The pharmacist has to special order the Methadone as no one carries that either! The methadone and Toradol shots seem to work the best! I couldn't take Savella, made me extremely I'll and Lyrica made me a zombie and I gained 50lbs! Wouldn't matter anyways, they also effect the liver so I am told!
Mar 07Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @fabmommy1 I also have diazepam and flexeril to help relax me on really bad days!
Mar 07Reply
fabmommy1
fabmommy1 @jakeamom12 - the nucynta is good, but still has some Tylenol in it. Oxycodone with no apap would be much better but if you have problems finding regular Oxycodone then you would REALLY have problems finding it with no apap. Flexeril is good for muscle spasms in your back so that and the diazepam are a good combo with your meds. And the odanesteron/zofran is very good because it doesn't have the sedative effect as phenergran. Tordal injections are great, and if you didn't know (you may want to check with your pm doctors policies) you can go every 2 weeks for injections. Now I know lyrica didn't work, did you ever try Neurontin(Gabapentin)? That's an alternative to Lyrica and usually works better and is cheaper. As far as Savella, basically all of my patients loved it because it gives you energy and helps with weight loss. But it doesn't agree with some. And glad you got away from the fentynal patches...it is a combo of so many different meds and very very addictive. They gave it to me (iv form) with dilaudid with my last kidney stone episode and it made me very ill as well. I didn't even realize how awful I treated others until the next day. It stinks having to take pain meds! I have to visit the er frequently due to my low immune system and because of my meds they always treat me like a drug addict. I am only (as of yesterday) 27! And my disease is very uncommon in the US so doctors treat me rather poorly if they don't know my disease. I hate it!!!! I hope you have a great day today and are feeling well. It's raining here so I am all flared up! But gonna make a good day out of it!
Mar 07Reply
ironwomen
ironwomen @fabmommy1 oh my goodness! Thats awful! Well if there is anything i can do let me know! I am on a beta blocker, but i still have to get my blood tested every year. Ill be praying for youπŸ™β€οΈ

jakeamom12 @fabmommy1 today has been awful with the weather! I couldn't take neurontin either! I know all about docs treating you like a drug addict! Its been hard to find a PCP because of it! lisabeez
lisabeez @ironwomen @fabmommy1 well thanks so much for all of this information. For the past day or so I've been trying to be more aware of what positions that I'm in when the rapid heart beat starts, how long it lasts, and also trying to record my pulse rate as it happens which lately seems like just about very hour or so! I was just sitting in the car and boom there it goes. No stress no anxiety just relaxing and all of this all started for me about 3 weeks ago when I was asleep! God bless you both for managing this and still being so strong about it. Right now I'm in that whiny complaining stage. I will visit my doctor again in another week and definitely mention to him POTS and tachycardia as concerns of mine. Thanks for all the supportπŸ’•πŸ’•
Mar 09Reply
fabmommy1
fabmommy1 @lisabeez - yes monitoring is a good idea. If it gets too high (140-up) and won't go down then an er trip may be in order. My last attack before my surgery started in the car and I went ahead to work and the doctor I worked for sent me to the er immedietly. I had to have an edenison flush 3x where they stop and restart your heart through an IV. A few days later I was basically forced into an ablation. And I am still whiny, maybe more now especially since I stay sick all the time. So it's okay to be whiny, you are going through something rough!! In prayers!!!

jakeamom12 @fabmommy1 so are you and you need to be told just how strong you are!!! I know what you mean about using it or losing it! I used to be a medical coder and managed an ENT office! I loved coding and I know in the past ten years since I've been disabled it's changed ALOT! I was also a surgical assistant for 15 yrs prior to being a coder and I still miss interacting with patientsπŸ˜‹

fabmommy1 @jakeamom12 - yes being disabled does change your life ALOT!! I am not sure how old you are but I was 25 when I was told I couldn't work anymore, I am still trying to figure out who I am now and what to do. I am trying to be the best wife and mom but being sick so often makes me feel like I am failing at that! The baclofen pump is fairly new - it's been 2 years since I have been out of work. But I just did some research and for fibro I don't know how beneficial it would be. Now for your back I see it as a very good benefit if you cannot tolerate oral anti-spasm meds. I am gonna make a call to one of my friends that's still a doctor in pain management an see about it. But I would only do it if you could not tolerate oral meds. They would have to surgically implant it and with ANY surgery (even exploratory) you are gonna develop scar tissue. And a lot of people don't understand the pain scar tissue can cause. Half of the pain in the back with people who have had back surgery is from scar tissue. So unless your having major problems with spasms and can't tolerate oral meds, then I would steer clear of it. If my friend tells me though there are good reviews with it though I will let you know and let you know her opinion on it as she sees patients daily with it. ;) hope that helps!

jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @fabmommy1 thanks! I know why too much about scar tissue! I had endometriosis and a a Hysterectomy at 30! My back doctor swears the big ball of scar tissue around my sciatic nerve is left over endometriosis as my first back surgery was before my hysterectomy. He says endo seeks out weak places where you've had surgery and scar tissue. They also fount it on my bladder that they did not remove,so I have leakage problems also and anyone who has Ehlers Danlos tend to have more scar tissue . I'm not sure if I told you my som and I have that too! Hyper Mobility type, we didn't find out until after my second surgery when he was diagnosed at 11, he also has Fibro. He is now 22! He is my hero the way he handles it, it has taken lots from him. He was very active in sports,a Football was his passion. He was tackled and because he was so limber his back bent all the way backwards and he had stress fractures in two of his vertebrae. I had my first back surgery at 23 when he was two, so I know how it feels to feel like you can't do what you need to for your family! I kept working and in pain not knowing I had Fibro or Ehlers or scar tissue around my sciatic nerve until I was 32 when my disc ruptured. The doctor said he had never seen such a massive ball of scar tissue wrapped around the sciatic nerve, he removed it and damaged it. Two years later I had to have a fusion and the mass of scar tissue had frown back even larger. When they did the fusion you have to make space for the piece they put in and the scar tissue was so tight it ripped my sciatic nerve from stretching and now it's permanently damaged. I had to use a walkers or a long time, then a cane. I can now do without but have to wear a ankle brace to help me as my ankle gives out and I fall all the time! I actually tore my Achilles during PT when it gave out! So now I have scar tissue in my Achilles and when it flares I have to wear a boot! I'm a mess at 43! The one thing I have always tried to do is even if I'm at my worse I did my best not to miss out on my sons life! Even if it meant having to be in bed for a week after! So I doubt I would do the pump! The disc above the one they fused is herniated and I refuse to have the surgery! I do not want to be like that again! It's bad enough I'm practically homebound and I can only drive up the road and back because my leg falls asleep and I lose control of it! I do not want to have to go back to using the walker or cane! I still use the walker if we are going to go sightseeing or walking a long distance! It has a seat on it,so I can sit and take a break! It's been hard learning a new way of life and it seems every time I start figuring things out, something else is thrown at me! I will say my faith has gotten me through! I now know God had a plan when I got pregnant six months into my marriage ,he knew if I didn't do it them,I never would have! They tell me that I never should have gotten pregnant! God has reasons for everything,so we just have to trust him! You will find a way to give your child everything he/she needs! That mommy instinct trumps everything and will make you do things you never thought you could!πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

jakeamom12 @fabmommy1 sorry for rambling! I also just started wearing a sacro belt,as my right sacro joint won't stay in socket! My pain doc used to be a PT, so she has put it back several times, now I can do it myself! It never stays in though.....I hope the belt is going to help! I do know it's been great to hold my ice pack in place! LOL I also use Voltaren gel which is great!

You know what moment I'm in right now? The completely TICKED OFF moment. You know, no one understands, they think you're making up stuff just so you can stay home because the weather is nice!? Really? LOL Ugh...I'm venting. I haven't been able to enjoy the nice weather...instead, in pain. But, alive, and completely blessed :) I'll get through this, we will! Frustrated right now, completely and utterly furious with some doctors. Ok, I'm done venting for now...throat hurts (again), meaning, I better go to bed. lol. I'll be back!! lol <3 Oh, and you know what else??! Goodnight lol..have a nice evening. :)

WELL DUH! I just told you my PAIN MGT DOC REFERRED ME TO YOU! SHE PRESCRIBES MY MEDS, I JUST NEED YOU TO DRAW BLOOD AND TAKE CARE OF ME WHEN I HAVE A COLD! I HAVE ALL DOCS COVERED FOR MY OTHER AILMENTS! PISSES ME OFF BEING TREATED LIKE A DRUG ADDICT! Sweet dreamsπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

The worst is when someone says "no pain,no gain" well that's good for the normal person.....a Fibro patient a little exercise or fun puts you in bed for a week! I could go on and on!

When that first happened last April, I didn't know what the heck was going on and when I found that I couldn't stand up without holding on to something, (trying to make coffee with ONE hand), I freaked out and went to the ER. We will see how today goes. I plan on a beautiful energetic day! The sun is shining in Kansas, and it is going to be warm for a change! One day at a time :)) I wish the same for you today!! lovinallanimals
lovinallanimals I have been with pain management for 28 years with no definitive diagnosis. Last year, my MRI finally came out clean but I still had a lot of pain and wanted to find out why. I was sent to a renown rheumatologist and within 5 minutes he diagnosed me with a genetic disorder called Hypermobility Syndrome. Have u ever heard of it?
Mar 16Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @lovinallanimals I don't know if it's the same but my son and I have Ehlers Danlos Hypermobility type(there's different type), it's a genetic disorder and our Fibro is secondary to it! Is that the same thing???
Mar 16Reply
lovinallanimals
lovinallanimals I've heard of Ehlers before. But it is different. HMS is all my joints are loose, I'm double jointed and hyper extended. The loose joints causes constant pain; from my feet to my neck. The best remedy is exercise to strengthen the muscles around the joints. Unfortunately, I tore my rotator cuff and have been down and out for a year, not exercising. and now I'm developing arthritis in my hands. Anxiety and depression comes along with the HMS. It's relatively unknown here in the states. In the UK, they have support groups. It took me 28 years to find a doctor that was familiar to diagnose me. Every day is a bad day. Not much fun.
Mar 16Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @lovinallanimals oh ok! Ehlers hypermobility is also loose joints but it's because we don't make enough collagen in our muscles, tendons etc so they're stretchy and don't tighten up enough to keep your joints in socket. Exercise helps but we can never tighten them enough. It causes joint pain and arthritis. It can also effect other muscles like our heart, lungs etc. my son has more joints that come out than I do. Mine is my ankles, thumb, back, hip and sacroiliac joint, where his is just about every joint. He actually had two stress fractures to the vertebrae in his Back when he was tackled in football. Because he was so limber when he was hit it looked like he bent all the ways backwards! He goes to the gym daily and it seems to help but the older he gets the more pain he is in. Unfortunately I didn't know I had it until he was diagnosed at 11 and I had already had two back surgeries and people with Ehlers tend to have more scar tissue and don't heal the same as a normal person. So I have so much scar tissue that when they did my third back surgery to fuse my back they found a ball of scar tissue around my sciatic nerve as big as a grapefruit! Even our scars keloid and look like little tumors! Women with it almost always have endometriosis and I had to have a hysterectomy at 30 and have scar tissue in my abdomen from that! I didn't know I had it then either so no precautions were taken. Between that, Fibro and my back I'm in constant pain.
Mar 16Reply
lovinallanimals
lovinallanimals Wow, that sucks. I haven't had any surgeries cuz the doctors never diagnosed me, thank God. There are 10 symptoms to diagnose HMS and I have 10 out of 10. I am atypical. I do wish I was diagnosed a lot sooner. The weird thing is, every time I have a test done, if it comes out negative, that's a positive for HMS. It's weird.

ringleader I'm recovering from late stage Lyme disease which can go into fibro and other autoimmune. Juicing vegetables and drinking lots of water has been my mainstay, and the doctor says my progress is much better than most. I take Meriva tumeric to help reduce inflammation. Three very stressful years compounded the problem with two deaths in the family. God is bringing me through, and I'm learning to be kind to myself and lean on His strength when I know I'm not able to think well, when short term is on the blink, when my joints and muscles ache and to give The Lord thanks.
Mar 19Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @ringleader I am so glad you are healing! I have Ehlers Danlos , three back surgeries, arthritis in my back and hip, liver disease from a blood disorder called hemochromatosis and long term medication use. Fibro is secondary to the Ehlers and back surgery. With all these things that cause pain individually themselves I've had a hard time finding any way to get relief, not to mention I have damage to my sciatic nerve! Without my faith in The Lord, I can't imagine what my life would be like! My son also suffers from Ehlers and Fibro at 22, it's very hard to watch. Gentle hugs to youπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

ringleader
ringleader Wow, there are a lot of challenges! We are the same age, and I can sympathize with only a portion of your pain. Lyme attacks muscles, joints, central nervous system, and the Pennsylvania strain, a doctor told me, affects mostly cognitive function. In the midst of these trials, leaning on The Lord is a necessity. It creates sweet hearts. I can see you're one of those. Blessings for your day, and thanks again for your care and shares!

michelleannette @jakeamom12. Your share really touched me today, I too gave fibro and I know exactly what it's like to be a 9.5 on the pain scale and have the drs take their sweet time. Give yourself a break,, take a warm bath, know there are complete strangers ( like me) who know this too will pass, and knows the murky depths while in the middle of it. May peace fall softly upon your shoulders, and may the pain pass easily and quickly. Your friend from California. Aedan, Dylan, Christopher, and Justin's Mom. MichelleAnnette.

jakeamom12 @valorieann I'm doing ok! Really sore! My sciatic nerve is really hurting from the swelling, should get better as the swelling goes away! They say the pain meds and steroids should start working within 7 days if it's going to work! The surgery has put me in a Fibro flare which I expected it would! Just a lot more surgery than expected! Went from just a shot to also removing scar tissue so the recovery period is longer! I finally got up and walked a little today, but my leg feels like it has a ton of bricks on it! I'm staying positive it's going to work! I can tell the pain in my sacroiliac joint is starting to die down which is a good sign! He said they may have to go back and do another shot in the sciatic nerve because of all the scar tissue! Thanks for checking in! Love ya friend!😘😘😘😘

tiffanyrl @jakeamom12 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. God lead me to people that cured me. Yes cured me. Google Hotze clinic/fibromyalgia. It is truly a thyroid problem (low) that is at a cellular level so that it doesn't show up on regular thyroid tests. I was treated with NATURAL thyroid called Armour. It must be the natural thyroid. I felt better immediately and have been pain and fatigue free for over a year. Best wishes and God bless you.

sophia2
sophia2 Traci, I was reading about you having Fibromyalgia. I started setting sick in March 2004 so it's been 10 years lil over. I've got Fibro/chronic fatigue syndrome, jan 13 heart problem, jan 14 diabetes. It's not a easy road yes Posh is a very good way to take your mind off the pain. There's no way anyone can understand what we go through everyday, you've got to live it. It's like having the flu 24/7, your bones are burning, your bloods hot, you can't sleep, your brain hurts, you never wake up and stretch like we once did. If you do the muscles hurt and you get cramps, you can barely get outta the bed Its so hard but try not to focus on the pain don't let it win. I've been to so many Dr's tried so many different meds and now my diabetes is causing so much pain in my knees down engulfing my feet that I can't sleep. I've got back problems too am having mote back leg pain. I'm so tired of Dr's but you've got to keep pushing forward You learn there are things u can do some you can't and just pace yourself. How long ago were you diagnosed? Do you have any brothers/sisters with it? Did you ever taje Nexium the purple pill you may seeing it advertise? I took it 4 years 80mg a day a very high dose the adverse side effects the first listed was Fibromyalgia!! My brothers got it, he took Nexium too. I seen the shares, thank you so much. When I came to return the favor it showed we weren't following each other. I hope all is ok there as well. I'm so sorry your surgery has thrown you into a Fibro flair, I'll be praying for you and checking in on you

jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @sophia2 hi Sophia! I'm not sure why it shows we aren't following on your end, but it is on mine!!?? I've was diagnosed in 2003 after my second back surgery! My sister was just diagnosed a month ago and we believe my dad has it but he won't go have it diagnosed! My son has Ehlers Danlos syndrome and we think he is starting to show signs too! From what we've been told by his genetic doctor that my dad, myself and my sister are probably all carriers of the Ehlers Danlos gene! Dads pass it to daughters and Moms to sons in most cases! I also have CFS, panic disorder, depression, three failed back surgeries, arthritis, pelvic floor dysfunction, had endometriosis (hysterectomy), sacroiliac joint disorder, liver disease, restless leg syndrome and so on! I've also had Bell's palsy and now suffering with shingles on the right side of my face and neck! Having an auto immune disease is so much fun! You are right though,we have to keep living and I rely heavily on my faith to see me through! They think I've probably had Fibro as far back as my teen years! Way before Fibro was even a name! I was called a lazy teen who and was making it up to get out of going to school etc., it didn't help my self esteem at all! My husband was diagnosed in January with diabetes and has pain from that also! Do you take cholesterol meds and metformen for your diabetes? Both those meds cause your pain to be worse, especially the cholesterol meds! His pain eased up when they took him off the cholesterol meds! Last week he passed out and ended up in the Er! Come to find out he was taking too much metformen and should have been on 5mg of BP meds and was on 20 mg! His BP was never high and was only supposed to be on it to protect his kidneys from the diabetes! His BP dropped to 64/88! It was really scary! We did find out today that his A1C dropped from 12.5 to 5.1 since January! So he gets to drop his metformen in half! They think it will help him feel better also! Please feel free to tag me anytime! It's nice having people to talk too who know what you're going through! Gentle hugs, TraciπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

bmonska
bmonska @jakeamom12 boy am I in the same boat as you and many of your followers. Long standing chronic pain & spasms, fatigue, herniations, bad knees, fighting for disability and denied time after time...never ending physical and mental pain, depression, anxiety, in general an intense feeling of joylessness and aloneness because it's not a broken arm or leg. It's invisible to the eye of others who have never experienced chronic pain of any kind and no explanation ever truly describes what we truly live through day in and day out. They don't understand because they CAN'T understand, even if they try their best and want to understand. Either I'm lazy or crazy as it all must be in my head. Trying not to take that personally is so, so rough. Almost 40, haven't worked in going on 10 years now because of the depression and anxiety associated with the pain and spasms I've been enduring since a car accident, herniated disc turned fully ruptured a year later,at 18. Hearing over and over "you're too young for all these problems!" Yes, but hearing it constantly does not make me feel better. Told it will only get worse every year after year and all I can do "is manage the pain as their is no fix. No cure." It gets so tiresome and frustrating to know, oh here comes a flare up. It's going to rain tomorrow." Having to make plans, if at all, around the pain of varying degrees, and going, doing, "depending on how my back feels." Just recently denied by SS/DisBility for the third time now anticipating having to file a civil suit or chuck it and start ALL OVER. Praying all of the time for relief and for a life, soon, where I can LIVE rather than just EXIST. "When are you going to reveal the plan you have for me, Lord?" I've learned so much reading through your comments and will take all of this info with me June 3rd as the recent pain of the last two months has been worse than the past two YEARS combined. How many times have you thought to yourself that closing your eyes and not waking up wouldn't be such a bad thing? Unfortunately, too many times in my head. God bless you, your posh followers and all others who I know exist just like us and prayers for us all as well. Contact me anytime, you and/or any of you reading this, should you need a new shoulder to cry on. <3 your closet & YOU!

jakeamom12
jakeamom12 Hi Becky! It's nice to meet you! I understand how you are feeling! I try very hard to rely on faith and relationship with The Lord to get me through, but we are all human and the pain can make you want to go to sleep and never wake again! When I get that way I pray harder as that is the devil working! My motto is If he brings you to it, he'll bring you through it! He's got your back even when you think he doesn't! He does have a purpose for you and me! We may not know what it is now,but he does! When I'm in that place I try to think of what I'd miss if I didn't wake up! My son getting married, my future grandchildren, my mom and dad, growing old with my hubby! To me they are all worth pushing through and making the best of this life I was given! I refuse to let ANY of my issues take my life from me! That's not to say I have my bad days! Believe it or not Poshmark has been a miracle for me! It takes my mind off things, gets me through the lonely insomnia nights, makes me feel like I'm contributing to my family and most of all the wonderful women I have met that I can truly call my friends! I lost all my friends and some family with this mess and these women lift me up and like me for who I am! Don't give up on the disability! Do you have a lawyer? You won't get it without one! I didn't get it for Fibro, I got it for failed back surgery syndrome, sciatic nerve damage and Arthritis. After I got a lawyer I had it within a year! Please know if you ever are feeling down and need a lift tag me! I'm a good listener! Gentle hugs TraciπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

myspoiledwife
myspoiledwife Hi! Wow I feel The Lord has brought me to your closet as well as all the other people on here with health issues. You all are & will be in my prayers! I too have been diagnosed with Fibro after a car accident back in 2005 and very correct how one day you are normal & the next you can hardly get out of bed! And, the meds are nonstop, almost feel like I'm a rat being tested with all I have been on. But, having a family, kids, home out in the country, etc., everyday tasks it's so hard to be sick/ill with so much to do, but learning I only do what I can that day, no more. I am proud that I am very blessed with an amazing hubby that treats me like his life. He has been with me since high school sweethearts & always by my side since the young age of 15 years old. 😊 And, with faith we all can do this although venting is one of the greatest things too when you are having a negative day. It helps to vent to keep your mind off the disease and focus somewhere instead of pain constantly. I know it's hard but with the proper meds (research what works for you personally), exercise, and healthy eating habits, and the utmost faith you can have many good days. I know easier said than done but with Fibro as well as other health issues all you can do. I too have, many of times, gone off the wagon, but than when I get back up and fight even through those soooo tired days and exercise without pushing yourself you will be amazed how much it can do & feel better. And, please don't let others tell you "it's all in your head, you can do this and more" right, NOT! They have no knowledge of what it means or where you came from. It's one tough road and hard to fight but any info any of you have I'm always open to suggestions after all I have been through, it's awful and depressing. I'm glad to have met you all on PM virtual land but proud that you are all fighters to kick this disease and live a happier healthy productive life, as much as we can. 😊 I haven't started a closet but I'm working & hoping too soon, please stop in to browse, shop, or just say hi! I too hope to do the same in your closet(s). God bless, take care, and enjoy life the best you can! πŸ˜‡

sophia2
sophia2 Traci, I really appreciate all the shares, the years are flowing after reading this. I'm sorry your dealing not only with yourself but your husband. My cholesterol is real high but I couldn't take the meds for it, my body hurt so bad. They tried me on Metformin he wanted me at 2,000mg a day, I couldn't tolerate 500 my stomach n colon hurt so bad I couldn't eat. I'm now on Glipizide he up it 5 mg a day when I seem him on 5/2 & my A1C was 7.6 down from 10.7. I'm not doing finger stick everyday now but a few days ago it was 319. I believe my grandmother had Fibro, I remember for years I'd go to visit her and always hugs & kisses for my grandparents. If asked how she was doing it was the same every time. She'd say I'm just hurting so bad and so sore I feel like I'm going to die. I no that feeling all to well and I no you do. It's a really hard life my, I was married 24 years we separated 3 years ago & divorced 4/1/13 it's been so hard, was the hardest decision I've ever made. Our marriage was in trouble for years he suffered with depression & I was so sick. I was trying to help him and be strong but he never had my back. He had knee replacement in 2010 and could no longer work instead of being happy he went into a deeper place, I understood but I told him look at it as though you took early retirement but he's not made that way. We could've had a wonderful life doing things together like it should be, but he became so bitter and didn't take his meds as directed. In sure u no what I mean. My youngest son is 17 he'll graduate next year. You ever need to talk 2705436919. Always no you can talk because any of us suffering with this horrible pain are the only ones who truly understand. I stay home most the time, I got back in church and go when I can but lately I'm not going as much because I just don't feel like getting dressed. It's a battle just be strong my friend, I'm a comment away... Lol.

jakeamom12 @sophia2 the same goes for you! This disease is hard on a marriage I know! Now with us both sick it's been even harder! sophia2
sophia2 I will be praying for you. It seems men aren't as strong when it comes to a chronic illness. They rely on their spouse and we're so tired and worn out just trying to get through the day. You feel you don't no if you can do it another day the constant pain is so different than pain that comes & goes. What you really want is to feel your husband understands and you can fall into his arms and hear him whisper in your ear.. it's going to be ok, because we!re as 1 and we will get through this together". That all I ever wanted to feel safe in his arms, sadly if didn't happen for me.

It can be very painful and he has flares just like with many invisible chronic pain diseases. He's 23 now and is my hero! He doesn't let it run his life,he lives in spite of it! I am VERY lucky that it is not as debilitating for me as is it is for others, but it's there nonetheless. 😞 I hope your are feeling ok today. It was a bad day for me... shows1211 I am so sorry you are experiencing a lot of pain. I too have a lot of pain. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer a few years ago. I had chemo & radiation treatments. By the grace of God I am still cancer free, but I have had every side effect associated with the treatments. I am on all kind of medication. Pain has become part of my life. I know all about the good day, bad day thing. Some days I do lay around & feel sorry for myself, but I am grateful for the good days. I know it can be worse & I am blessed. So I try hard, & it is hard not to let myself go there. God has a plan for my life, that I wish he would let me in on. (HaHa). I hope you have more good days than bad. I will keep you in my prayers. There is a plan for your life too. May God keep you & bless you. Connie

danystormborn Mine has gotten so bad I can't even work, I have to live with my daughter at my parent's house. The mental effects are kicking my butt too, especially short term memory loss. It's so hard to stay strong sometimes!
Nov 09Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @danystormborn I'm so sorry to hear this.... I understand! I had to quit my dream job ten years ago and go in disability. Fibro really changed my life. It came on after a fall off my deck and had to have back surgery. Three failed back surgeries later and a damaged sciatic nerve, plus all the things that come with Fibro I spend most days homebound and lonely. I pretty much lost all my friends and some family. Most of my family tries to support the best they can but they don't understand. It's hard to understand unless you have it. My short term memory is terrible and has gotten worse lately. My immune system is crap and I stay sick alot. I have Chronic fatigue syndrome and sometimes I think that's worse than the pain! What I would give for someone to be able to give me a hug,but it hurts for someone to even sit next too me! Some days it hurts to wear clothes! If it wasn't for my faith in the Lord and my wonderful friends on Posh I don't know what I'd do. They keep me going and my handsome son! I'm just glad he loves me even though his life changed when mine did! We were very active family. It killed me to miss sporting events and other special occasions in his life, but he is my rock. My hubby tries, but he has a hard time understanding. Well anyways it is nice to meet you! Sorry for rambling, it's just nice to talk to someone who understands! TraciπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
Nov 09Reply
danystormborn
danystormborn @jakeamom12 don't apologize! I feel the same way, and have many of the same problems. My fibro actually started developing when I was 13, so I don't remember much of my life from when I didn't have it, which I suppose is sort of an advantage, in a weird way. Still haven't found effective treatment for it though, and it's only getting worse. My daughter is only 2 and a half, and can't understand why mommy feels so bad sometimes, or gets so sick, or hurts too bad to play with her, and no one else understands either. It's really hard
Nov 09Reply
danystormborn

Nov 09Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @danystormborn they say I suffered with that and endometriosis as a teenager, but there wasn't a name for either so I was told I was lazy and dramatic! After I was diagnosed it made more since why I would have bouts of flu like symptoms, severe fatigue and joint pain, but they just called me a complainer. I also have Epstein Barr virus. I had a bad case of mono at 19, Bell's palsy about six years ago, I get strep and horrible fever blisters. I just got over shingles on my face about a month ago. All of those are the same virus. Anyways, they say my fall and back surgery just made the Fibro worse and that's when everything went downhill. It's like my body is falling apart! My son was 11 when I was diagnosed, he's my miracle. When I had my hysterectomy they said the endo was so bad my ovaries were like stone from all the scar tissue. I should've never gotten pregnant!
Nov 09Reply
danystormborn
danystormborn @jakeamom12 wow, that's crazy! I've had a myriad of healthy issues too, but I don't want to bore you with all my misfortune. It's just sad the my daughter is so young, and my 21st birthday is next sunday, and if my body is this bad now, how bad will it be when I'm older? It's scary to think about
Nov 09Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @danystormborn I started posh two years ago come January to help offset my disability. It was great up til the last six months! I was sending packages daily! Now I can go a month or more without a sale! I have spurts of good sales and then nothing again. It's frustrating because it takes all I have to share like I do not to get any results!
Nov 09Reply
danystormborn
danystormborn @jakeamom12 ya, I spend SO much time sharing, following, etc... But I've been here 5 months and only made 4 sales
Nov 09Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @danystormborn I hate to hear you have it so bad at a young age. I'm 44 and have to use a walker some of the time, mostly winter. I do much better in summer. Do you have a good pain management doctor! Mine has been my savior! She's wonderful! When I started seeing her I was headed for a wheelchair! She is like a friend and only sees Fibro patients! She listens and spends time and doesn't treat me like a drug addict! Have you tried pool therapy? It's fabulous,if only to give a break from the pain for a couple hours! The water is 92 degrees and you get in up to your neck and the pain just goes away! Believe it or not she put me on Methadone for pain and it and a Toradol shot every month works better than anything we've tried! Please keep in touch! My son is 23 and suffers from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which is another chronic pain/connective tissue disease. It makes me sad to see kids your age dealing with that much pain when you should be living life!
Nov 09Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @danystormborn it's always slower in the summer, don't give up! It should start picking up for Christmas!πŸ˜‹
Nov 09Reply
danystormborn
danystormborn @jakeamom12 for years I have looked at my life more like "trying to get through it" than actually living it. My normal doctor is great with pain meds, but every actual pain doctor I've tried has written my off as a lost cause :( I have a hot tub I use sometimes and it helps, but I have never done actual "pool therapy". I've heard good things about it!
Nov 09Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @danystormborn I would suggest researching a good pain doc who specializes in Fibro. I went through several pain docs that brushed me off and were mean! My back doctor actually suggested her to me and it was the best referral ever! You need someone who knows and believes in Fibro and understands what you're going through. Here in Virginia most PCP. Docs won't prescribe pain meds anymore because of all the trouble and documentation. My PCP won't even talk to me about it. It's hard because every pain I get they put it off on Fibro! I kept complaining with side pain and my PCP kept saying it's just another Fibro pain....I told my pain doc about it,she did bloodwork and I ended having liver disease from long term use of pain meds with Tylenol in them! You almost have to be your own advocate and it's hard especially when you're already too tired to even live somedays!
Nov 09Reply
danystormborn
danystormborn @jakeamom12 I LOVE my PCP! I've seen him for 10 years now, so he knows all of my history and if I tell him I need meds, he will always give them to me because he knows I would never abuse medication. I'm on a pain contract with hims so I get oxycodone every month, but I'm hoping one day to not rely on it so much. It does help a lot, but I don't want my body to become dependent on it. I am still in TONS of pain though, and I think stress is making it worse, coupled with the cold weather here in Washington State, so I clearly need some other treatment. I've heard about some really promising ones, but I don't know if my insurance will cover them. I think if my PCP writes a referral for them then the insurance might, so πŸ™ praying it will!

jakeamom12 @danystormborn I am so glad you have a great PCP! Here in Virginia pcp's won't work with pain pst anymore unfortunately! I will keep you in my prayers that they find what will work for you! Please stay in touch and let me know how it's going! If there's a treatment out there that works, I would love to know about it!πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

danystormborn Regular exercise has worked miracles for my pain as well, but lately I have been so busy or in too much pain to drive to the gym, although I know laying around and not moving makes fibro worse, sometimes it's hard to get yourself to move when you hurt so bad!
Nov 09Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @danystormborn I completely understand! We have a gym in my community and sometimes the thought of walking or driving the three minutes makes me tired especially in the winter! In the summer I use our community pool to exercise! It does help if you can get up the energy to do it! Yes stress makes it ten times worse for me! My problem is when I feel good enough to do it or clean house or go out, I over do it and end up in bed for days!
Nov 09Reply
danystormborn
danystormborn @jakeamom12 I do the EXACT same thing! I'll have errands pile up during flares and then I'll try to do as many or all of them as I can when I have good days and all of that work plus stress about how much stuff I have to get done in such a small amount of time just triggers more bad days. I've learned to never spend days in bed though, that makes the bad times not only worse, but last way longer. Maybe that's just me though: La

danystormborn @jakeamom12 hey. I wasn't sure where to comment but I figured this was as good a place as any. I wanted to check in and see how you're doing. I've had a really rough weekend. The cold has been giving me flare up after flare up, which is why I haven't been super active on here the past few days. Plus I have been sick for over a month now and it isn't getting better :( I hope you had an easier weekend that I did.

kbusenburg I hear ya! I just hate it you're having a good day(s) and then BAM a flare up creeps up. 8 years and I still haven't gotten used to the flare ups. How can you, you never know how you're gonna feel. But you gotta stay strong and not give in. Wishing you good health and happiness. πŸ˜ƒ

jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @kbusenburg nice to meet you! I know how you feel! I'm always Leary at making plans because I never know if I'm going to wake up and not be able to get out of bed! It's depressing, people don't even ask me to do anything anymore. It really can ruin your life if you let it! But I have my faith and my family and that's what keeps me going!πŸ’œπŸ’œ
Nov 13Reply
kbusenburg
kbusenburg Oh I know what you mean about not making plans. Some people just don't understand and it starts out with you being the flake cuz you didn't show and then the invites begin to lessen and then there's no invites and all your so called friends don't call or come around because to them you're a drag who's always tired. But who needs people like that anyway right. Your real friends stick with you, you have your family and of course your faith. I feel very luck as well to have the support of my mother, she also has fibro and we both have Lupus (SLE). She's a very strong lady and always knows just what to say or do πŸ˜ƒ. I've enjoyed talking with you and hope to continue. Good Luck with your closet sales πŸ˜ƒπŸ’°πŸ‘β€οΈπŸ’

darce_bijoux @jakeamom12 I really had to laugh at your second panel because that's what all my meds do too! They just laugh and then make me so sleepy that I'm rendered completely useless so which is better useless and sleepy or useless and in pain? Sigh...such is life right? But we fight and don't let things like Fibro and Lupus run our lives right! Hope you're feeling better and soft hugs!

jakeamom12 @hannahbanana4 I'm doing ok! Thanks for asking!❀️ I think we've all made that mistake! It will probably never get noticed and ship right to your buyer! That's what mine did. If not, I think she'll have to pick it up at the post office but not sure. Is it late getting to her? Did you get an email saying it shipped?
Nov 16Reply

sammy
sammy @jakeamom12 Traci, I feel ya woman!!!! Do u take anything for it? ❀❀❀
Nov 17Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @sammy yes! Methadone, Toradol Shot, flexeril when it's really bad, Cymbalta, 800 mg ibuprofen for break through pain and Voltaren gel for tender points and achey joints. It helps ok.... I had to come off the good stuff like Lyrica, Savella and anything with acetominophen because of liver damage and a blood disorder called Hemochromatosis due to iron overload from the liver damage causing me to absorb too much iron. It's always something and always changing! I also do pool therapy and have a tens unit.
Nov 17Reply
sammy
sammy @jakeamom12 pool therapy for lower back is great. I've had tens and it did nothing. What does the Methadone do? I thought that was to get off Heroin but I think my friend's mom takes it. Something strong , not sure. Could be morphine. That shot I never heard of. I take Gabapentin which works for a few days , then stops. Similar to Lyrica but I didn't like that. Do u get around doll? Anything I can do? We are lucky enough to have medical marijuana. I'm going broke as I don't smoke it, I take the CBD (oil) in candy form I may have mentioned. It's not perfect but helps a lot. I can't drive on 2, sometimes 1. They are soooo expensive but better than excruciating pain, right? I have a few vape pens that pple swear by but doesn't do much for me. I'd be happy to get u one to see if it helps. Let me know. U need to get better sweetie. Why do bad things happen to good pple????? U take care and let me know if u need anything. Much posh love❀❀❀❀

Nov 17Reply
jakeamom12
jakeamom12 @sammy yes I use methadone for pain, it works the best of anything that doesn't have acetominophen ! When the pain doc first suggested it I looked at her like she was crazy and I've had people think I was a heroin user, but never touched the stuff! Toradol is a big dose of anti inflammatory and it's wonderful for about two weeks! Problem is you can only get one shot every six weeks! But that two weeks is wonderful! I have to believe God has a purpose for me and without that faith I'd be in bad shape! I tell people I know how Job feels now!LOL He was a strong man! There's a book called "Where is God when it hurts", great book! Puts things in perspective! Please know I'm here to lend an ear anytime!πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
