Very rare and hard to find Kimono-style Maille top from Gaultier’s S/S 1999 collection. Polyamide nylon mesh for a delicate and iconic finish to this ornate Japanese printed mesh top. Samurai and warrior print on front and back. Only one I have been able to find on the web as of late, I think this was part of a set featuring a corresponding top and skirt (which sold at auction for $1000+ a while ago). Coral trim and branded closure inside and out, delicate bell sleeves that flow beautifully in the wind. Such a spectacular piece! Truly a work of art, just not for me. Some minor flaws as shown. Minor pilling throughout, and a few marks. Would probably benefit from a dry clean.
